Is this an actual movie, or is this part of an elaborate prank? Either way, I’m intrigued.

I’m trying to figure out if this is real or if Danny is pulling some prank for another project.

The only reason I’m questioning it is because no one knew it was happening until today, and it’s supposedly being released this summer

I don't know if it's real but I would absolutely watch that movie.

I don't know who that is (the guy in the video) and I can't imagine why anyone would green light the movie so I'm going to say it's fake to promote something else.

Also, if it was real I imagine Paul Hogan would have been in it.

Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals are two of the most acclaimed comedy series of the past decade or so, and he created and starred in both. Check them out if you ever have a chance.

He also played MCA in the last great Beastie Boys video/short film. :)

According to People it's real and Paul Hogan is involved.

Crocodile Dundee is a film that has stood the test of time,” Hogan tells PEOPLE. “It was a defining moment in my life and one of my proudest accomplishments. Throughout the past few years, I’ve been thinking about how to bring Dundee to a new generation. I’m excited to introduce the new Crocodile Dundee to the world and look forward to sharing more news about those involved very soon.”

MCA was too sick at the time to do much on-camera work (if you notice, when the real Beastie Boys do show up at the end as cops, he looks pretty frail and gaunt), so he came up with this ingenious and deliciously weird work-around. The whole thing was written and directed by him.

Here's the short-form version for... whichever cable networks were still playing Beastie Boys videos in 2011.

He looks like one of those wacky guys on MTV who gets a show like Tom Green or something. I mean look, the Crocodile Dundee movie wasn't great cinema or anything but it was at least aimed at adults.

This guy looks like he appeals to teenagers or really dumb college kids.

I'm surprised they aren't calling it "Dundee EXTREME!".

Wait, wait, that can't be real...everybody knows you have to have Jack Black in it to totally lose cred in your sequel project! Otherwise, the serious fans might just have something to live for...

Well Dundee Junior has to have a wacky bumbling partner to explore Australia with, doesn't he?

But, no...Black would be taking the lead role, still on his futile quest to morph into a leading man. Thus dashing the hopes of crockophiles worldwide.

 Okay, maybe he is really funny and he doesn't come off this stupid in his actual TV shows. Maybe his shows are great. I don't know.. I'm just saying he seems really annoying in this trailer and isn't making me want to go see his TV shows based on this...

I think the trailer is fake. Hollywood would just call it Crocodile Dundee and cast The Rock.

Hmmmm I vote for prank. Maybe when people get to the theater and start to watch it's actually a 5 hour super-cut of Sarah Mclachlan ASPCA suffering animals commercials.
