I'm taking my 7 year old son (youngest of 3), who is a big fan of post-Waters PF.:) I think he will grow up to be my concert buddy.

It was great, although I notice looking at the blu ray tracklisting, that it seems to have been edited for the theatrical version.

If there weren't already enough cellphones in the movie. The people on either side of me were filming parts of the movie on their phone. Idiots.

Nothing else to say except the cinema experience was phenomenal. No-one is going to be disappointed.

I already am disappointed. It isn't playing in my town. :shake:

I've read that quite a few songs were cut for the theatrical version

Money. Us and them. Fat Old Sun. The Blue. Faces of Stone. On An Island. Today.

Well I was! Sound in the cinema was too quiet with almost no bass and the 4k picture looked very average to me. Can't see the point of 4k if the director decides to use a soft focus. I didn't like the version of Great Gig, Gilmour let the backing vocalists sing the chorus of "In Any Tongue", which is the highlight of the last album IMO. I also felt the sax at the end of Shine On was a bit ham fisted. I'll still buy the blu ray but i don't feel this was classic Gilmour.

Just got back home. Sound, picture, performance all magnificent.

Edit: overall, I would happily see another concert film at the same cinema in similar circumstances. Excellent experience. Let's have a 4K version of the original Pompeii!

I really enjoyed the concert, but was disappointed it was so edited.

We were back on the pub by half nine.

I'd rather have been listening to The Blue, and Fat Old Sun.

So you go to the pub, see the film and then go back to the pub on a week night? Not criticizing, just want to know if that's common night out in England. Over here it's drive to the mall, go see a film, go home.

A couple of those are not on the DVD/BR release either, though.

I noticed I preferred the Manzenara/Carin lineup than the Pompeii lineup from clips I've heard.

I'd probably agree with all these points, but they'd be my only grievances, and I wasn't as irritated with the vocal arrangement of On Any Tongue as I was with The Great Gig in the Sky.

High Hopes, On Any Tongue, Sorrow, Time and Comfortably Numb were worth the price of admission alone. I also thought Rattle That Lock sounded great. Definitely the best track all night for the bass.

I take it everyone got the mini documentary, Return to Pompeii, beforehand? Sometimes these screenings aren't universal, and some cinemas show "bonus material" that others don't.

I knew I shouldn't have said "no-one". :) Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it as much as I did. We didn't have the audio issues you described.

Ah okay, thanks for the reminder. My post was in reference to the songs on the Blu-ray that were cut for the theatrical release.

I could not make it tonight due to my schedule but I wanted to. It seems to me like I remember the Roger Waters Wall film actually getting another one night showing, so I wonder if this will too. The difference is the DVD and blu-ray are out much sooner in this case. Also it seems like to me this film was at many more theaters than the Waters Wall film.
