Thanks for sharing the Gilmour documentary. I watched it recently based on an r/pinkfloyd share on Reddit. I suppose if I dropped 60 bucks a month for cable, I, too, could get all the cool BBC stuff like the UK kids.

    Biggest for a solo show.

Floyd did a few bigger including both Knebworth shows that were 100,000+.

Gilmour played with Bryan Ferry at Live Aid London to 72,000.

That´s correct. I meant DG solo.

Indeed! But unfortunately, I wasn't at that show, so I can't comment. Although I did have a ticket, but my girlfriend got cold feet about our trip to the the other side of the planet ;)

In 2017 and going forward what is the criteria for the band's management to choose Andy Jackson v James Guthrie for remixing and/or remastering? I believe they both do a great job. Thanks

I believe that Guthrie does all back catalogue releases

Thanks Ron. OBC 2016 remix is interesting. Not knowing the technical aspects perhaps Andy did the remix and James did the remastering part. Not sure. Either way I believe they both do a great job.

James had nothing to do with the new OBC mix. I'm really surprised that Andy did this one.

He gave quite a testy response to audience shouts for it at Pompeii, along the lines of " Rick's dead, we don't play that anymore, ok"

Run Like Hell was interesting as Chester Kamen handled vocals on the first night and Guy Pratt on the second at Pompeii

I bet that won't end up in the DVD release. When he played the Meltdown Festival (which forms the bulk of the acoustic In Concert DVD) someone shouted out, "When's the next Floyd album, Dave", which brought the instant response, "Who gives a f***?". That was left off the DVD...

FYI, iy was Glenn Povey who requested, "Play something from Animals please."

There were a few comments by DG, all in good humour, as I recall (I was at the show and also have an unedited bootleg with all the comments on).

The Animals one, the next Floyd album one, and the "Where's Roger?", "If you want him, you can have him", all of which somehow failed to make the DVD.

IIRC, "play something from Animals" IS on the DVD... answer: "we'd still be here after turf out time if we did that"...

Little did he know he'd be releasing the next Floyd album in 2014!

Any idea on a release date for this project? September? Will Andy work w James on mastering? Any idea if there will be multiple package (e.g. 2-cd, cd/blu ray, deluxe box) options? Thanks all!

Nothing officially announced yet but it safe to assume that it wont be long.

Remember That Night was released 17 months after filming. Live In Gdansk took 25 months but I guess that one was not started on before the RTN was finished.

My guess is late summer/early fall release that they would hope would carry sales into the holiday season. I also expect a lavish release with few different options including both audio/video components. Let's see how on or off I am :)
