Thanks. I'm definitely going to wait. I own the older pressings. If Sean Magee has recut the Anthologies, then they should be better sounding than the originals, almost by default. Additionally, the actual quality of the pressings will most likely be much better too.

So far, all these MPO pressings have been impeccable even if the Digital Remasters don't exactly float my boat. I'm certainly going to complete the collection even if I don't quite understand the absence of LIB...N.

My calculations should be about right...
    Vol 1 - August.
    Vol 2 - September.
    Vol 3 - December.

Listening to the White Album which I bought from an Italian seller on Discogs. Not much difference between this and the 2012 pressing. A slight bit more top end on the recut. I'm not crazy about the White Album remaster in either format.

The vinyl quality of these reissues are excellent!

Hi. Any UK subscribers received White Album and Rubber Soul through the post yet?

My account hasn't been charged but would expect to seeing these arrive towards the end of next week if on a 4 week cycle (Help & Pepper arrived on 31st March). Also hoping my delayed t-shirt will come in this parcel.

No, just checked my account and there's no note of the next albums being on their way. Rubber Soul will be out in the shops this Wednesday so I'd expect the packages to be on their way then.

Subscriber here too, not even marked as posted on my account details. This is the only thing that bugs me about de Agostini.

No, waiting for it to be sent with Rubber Soul. Am away from tomorrow for a week, is it selfish to hope they don't send too early? Yes it is.

Know the feeling, nothing worse than seeing copies on the shelf knowing yours is still delayed in the post somewhere. I feel as a subscriber there's no reason why it can't be shipped and delivered on the same day it hits the shops.

Hi guys I'm new to collecting Beatles records, in fact collecting any records!

I'm guessing you would have to have real top end turntables and needles to hear the difference between 2012 and 2017 pressings?

Or would i be able to here the difference on my £100 ion turntable?

    Cheers, Lee

So are there many people that bought the Stereo Vinyl Box Set buying these new reissues?

Or have most of you that are buying this not got the Stereo Vinyl Box Set?

I passed on the 2012 Stereo releases, but I bought the first issue out of curiosity (and 'cos it was cheap!) and appear to have been sucked in, having bought every issue so far, despite having perfectly good analogue copies already...! Yes, I am officially bonkers...

I bought the 2009 CD remasters in stereo and mono and have a handful of them on vinyl, some quite old. Couldn't resist a decent vinyl collection like this and the quality so far, three albums in, has been excellent. Just wish De Agostini would get their act together and post subscriber copies a little earlier. I should have been charged for the next parcel by now but no sign of it on my account, suggesting that they won't be arriving 4 weeks after the last ones.

Got my Rubber Soul early this morning; newsagent had 5 copies - the most I've seen in one place at any time! Excellent quality of package equal to the preceding issues, as I'm sure many of us expected it to be so. And the disc about as quiet between tracks as it possibly could be. This has made me question which of the stereo mixes I now prefer now I actually have the remix in this format; coming down on the side of this, which took me a little by surprise. Although I got to know and love the album by the 1987 CD. The mono is set to remain my 'go-to' though, Oh, it's my favourite album by them too.

Spinning on a little (pardon the pun) I will be very keen on hearing how the MPO of MMT sounds, compared to the 2012 cut. I've only bought that one a couple of months back and unless the 2017 is regarded as a vast improvement, then I don't have a reason to bother. Unless it's for the 'bonus' booklet (!) But I've only flicked through them so far, so I've already given myself the answer to that one... even if it is out on my next payday and... and... :D

Sort of linking the above paragraphs, I was hoping to see the original/non-doctored shot of the cover photo printed in the latest mag but not surprised that they didn't do that. For anyone who's not seen it:

Got my copy from Tesco earlier today. They had about 30 copies and this is in a smallish Wiltshire town. They are clearly selling to be getting in so many. Anyhow, first impressions are that this is the best the remix has sounded. I will need to closely A/B it with my 2012 later. The noisefloor is amongst the lowest of modern pressings that I have encountered (rivals my 70s Japanese pressings). Great instrumental clarity and vocals sound punchy and defined. It's a great listen and I am thoroughly enjoying it on my day off!

I would budget for a better turntable if I was you. I think that is wiser than spending money on multiple pressings if you are new to this game. It's not cheap but well worth it! Lots of advice from knowledgable members on this forum about equipment.

My original plan was to stick after Abbey Road but I have since been tempted by Help to complement my mono box version and today I picked up Rubber Soul for the same reason.
I have to say that I am very impressed with this pressing though I can't compare with previous stereo issues.
Next on my list is MMT in 2 weeks but after that there will definitely be no more for me.

Even a budget turntable from Pro-ject would be a vast upgrade from the turntable you have - something like this:

Pro-Ject Elemental Red Turntable w/ Ortofon OM5e MM Cartridge - Pro-Ject Audio - AudioVisual Online - Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists
