I just bought a set of Nakamichi SP-7 headphones....but they are really smokey. Is there a way that I can sucsessfully de-smoke these? They are really bad...

If it can't be done, is this a legit reason to return them to the seller?

Also, I understand that another company makes replacement pads for these headphones. Does anyone know who that is and how I can contact them?

I first thought you were saying that you ruined your headphones by "letting all of the smoke out of them"--you know, when you're working on the electrical system of your car, cross a couple of wires, and "let all of the smoke out" so that nothing works any more?!

I have heard that ground coffee works: getting a big enough plastic container (with lid) to hold the headphones and an open can of Folger's or the like.

One side is dead as it turns out...so these need to go back anyway. Bad purchase....
