Def Leppard 7LP & CD* Box coming in June

Seen on Sound Stage Direct. Don’t think this has been covered here. Looks like EP-Hysteria with a rarities Disc and the Live at the Forum show. No info on mastering that I can find.
I have all of the originals, but the rarities disc is enticing...

Dying to know how the reissued Pyromania will sound. The same with Night and Dry.

 

This box will coincide with Leppards/ Journey tour.

 

The audiophiles won't be happy with Hysteria being one 60min+ vinyl.

But then again, I don't imagine many audiophiles listen to Def Leppard.

 

Wonder if Hysteria will be 2 LPs like 2017 reissue or it will be 1 to be like the original 1987 release.

 

Damn, with this thead title I was hoping that they were gonna pull a Merzbow-type move and release a 7 LP box of new material.

 

Since they've already made the 2LP set, I'm betting that is what it will be. It may say 7LP box set, but I'm guessing they really mean 7 "album" box set, with album meaning the work of art rather than how many actually discs it contains. I'm also betting that almost all of these, with the exceptions of the Live at The L.A. Forum and Rarites albums, will get individual releases, as well, down the road. Kind of like how the Bowie box sets have been coming out, with the individual albums streeting four to six months later, and only the rareties albums not getting a stand alone release, but being an incentive to purchase the Box Set. The Def Leppard EP and Hysteria both got released last year, and when the EP was issued for Record Store Day 2017, the press release stated it was "the beginning of a major re-issue campaign for the band's music", particularly on vinyl.

Also in case anyone missed it, there is also another Def Leppard vinyl release coming for this year's RSD 2018 - Live at Abbey Road Studios. No idea what's going to be on it yet, or from what time period it originates from.

 

The highly sought-after MFSL CDs of Pyromania and Hysteria say otherwise.

The 3" CD is a cool idea for the Def Leppard EP, but are there any modern CD drives that could even play it without getting jammed?

 

I think it's standardized these days Morgan, including cd-rom drives.
You'll see that 'recessed indent' on the tray

Why not put the original "Me And My Wine" on the rarities disc? Nobody wants the damn remix! This looks like a hodgepodge set. Way too much that could be there and isn't.

 

Is there anything on the rarities disc that isn't part of the deluxe reissues or already readily available? I don't see much here.

 

Why not just the Deluxe version of High N Dry. My original vinyl sounds great but could go for more.

 

Yeah, I’m not impressed with the rarities disc. I’ll have to wait and see what the remastering info is, otherwise it’s a pass.

Another dissapointing box set!
A live concert from On Through the Night tour would have made the price worth it. Throw in the unreleased EP from the same period as well.
Wasn't there two different 7" single releases of Hello America , wonder which one it is?

 

Paul's blog states Ronan is doing these- he destroyed the 2017 Hysteria, so it looks like i'm out on this set.

 

It would have been nice of them to include the early BBC Sessions on this set, but it looks good.

 

Exactly - I'm not impressed with this set at all.

 

I'm not a big Def Leppard fan, but I loved them as a kid in the 80s and occasionally I enjoy hearing them still. There's nothing here for the die hard fans and collectors. The "rarities" aren't particulary rare, though the early singles could be on CD.
