    The S
The SHM is stellar and beats the original US CD.

Anybody know when She's To Tough was recorded. I know it was released on 1993 Retroactive. Thanks

I've heard a US original CD pressing of Hysteria and the MFSL. Is it just me or are they very similar sounding? I think the MFSL sounds a little more relaxed but I really didn't think there was that much difference at all to the regular CD pressing.

Yes, that's my opinion, too. One has to keep in mind that Hysteria had a REAL huge budget production-wise.
The label had a strong faith after the giant success of Pyromania, and Hysteria was designed to be a hit. So much care, work, money and time was spent in that product, it's obvious that nobody involved was interested in any flaws.
To me, the original pressing always did it. Even with the MFSL sounding a tad warmer, you could ask yourself if that really pleases the album.

So what is the consensus here? I'm only interested in a well-mastered version of the bonus material, LP or CD is fine. I've been listening to it via Apple Music :)

The 2LP set is really nice sounding! If setup for vinyl, it is the way to go for me and I have many versions of this (MFSL, original US LP, original US CD, remastered Deluxe Edition).

Good to know... but I'm most interested in good-sounding versions of the bonus/extras. Does such a thing exist?

I picked up 5/6 of Hysteria singles on 45rpm back in the day, but inexplicably got Love Bites on cassingle....

    This.

These are the only good masterings of the b-sides. I never bought the 7"/12"'s but the CD singles from '87-88 all sound decent and much better than any of the remastered versions. Maybe the 7"/12"'s have more low end, jeffmo789?

    As far as CD's:

"Tear It Down" can be found on:
    Women promo CD
    Animal CD single
    Animal CD video single

The sound of TID on the video single is slightly different than the Women promo CD. I was never able to track down the regular Animal CD single. I always wondered what the sound of that pressing was like compared to the other 2. c-eling, is that a scan of your single? If so, have you compared it?

The "Animal" video single has the full ending to the "Animal" extended remix which was chopped off the Hysteria 2CD Deluxe.

"I Wanna Be Your Hero" and "Ride Into the Sun" are on the Hysteria CD single.

"Ring Of Fire" is on the "Armageddon It" CD single and on a Japan CD3.

"Release Me" is on the "Rocket" CD single I believe and also on a Japan CD3.

One of the extended mixes of "Rocket" is on the "Love Bites" CD single.

All of the above sound good.

The "Pour Some" extended remix I believe is on that elusive "Animal" CD single. It also appeared, along with extended remixes for "Armageddon It", "Rocket" and "Excitable", on the 1995 CD singles for "When Love and Hate Collide", although I'm not that crazy about the mastering, but they are probably still better than the later remasterings.

Forgot about my friend at the time had the Hysteria cassette. On release day 8/3/1987 we drove to the record store to buy it. I thought it was a big deal because I bought the cd, for the times I guess
Eventually my friend got a cd player and bought the Hysteria cd.

The only Hysteria single I bought back in the day was the CD3 of "Rocket", which i liked because I actually prefer this shorter, edited version to the sprawling LP version, and for the live version of "women":

I still have it, along with the other several hundred cassette singles/maxi-singles I bought up until 1995. :)

When I had to move about 10 years ago, I got rid of most of my full-length cassettes, but kept all the singles for the nostalgia factor.
