Big Dave Davies fan. Wished he would have gotten more songs on some of those Kinks albums. He's a breath of fresh air between Ray's songs, like on the Lola album. I think of John Entwistle the same way with the Who, change of pace songs.

AFL1-3603 and Glamour represented a rather potent one-two punch as far as Dave's solo work. Why songs like "7th Channel", "World Of Our Own" and "Doing The Best For You" never got airplay, I just don't understand. Pulling these discs down for a spin recently revealed just how well these works have aged -- which is to say, very well indeed. Glamour is as good or better than anything Ray or the Kinks were doing at the same time.

I haven’t been on his website in a while, I remember buying a few of his albums on his website. I don’t remember all the albums right now, but I just listened to Fortis Green. It’s a pretty good album, but it sounds like an album of demos.

"It was an honour to have @DaveDaviesKinks, a founding member and guitarist from #TheKinks, in the studio last week mastering an incredible album with the assistance of his sons Simon and Martin. Mastered by our own, Alex Wharton."
