  5. It was very impressive. I thought, given his LOTR obsession, that he might get made up as one of the characters and interview himself. Smaug was even better!

I wonder how they did that and what the audience there actually saw?

Gosh, darn it. Can't watch it. Message:

"Sorry, but this video is unavailable from your location, probably due to your overly polite attitudes"

    Shucks!

He's knocking it out of the park...as usual. As much as I like Jimmy Fallon, lord help him when Colbert takes the reins across the way. And Mr. Kimmel...we hardly knew ye.

I love how so many US TV companies fail to realise that the internet is a world-wide phenomena.

It's okay I'll just wait another 40 seconds till someone puts a better clip of it on You Tube.

Completely agree but you do know the BBC does the same thing right? It isn't just US companies.

Yes after I posted that I remembered it's the same for most TV companies the world over. So I apologise for that generalisation. You are quite correct.

Let me rephrase that to -

I love how so many soon to be extinct TV companies fail to realise that the internet is a world-wide phenomena.

The BBC does it because it's impossible to pay the TV license fee outside of the UK.

I thought the Smaug thing was quite clever and wondered how much time it took to animate it, or if it was done on the fly.

The whole part about Smaug having to wear the motion capture equipment for the CGI was hilarious:

Colberts and Daily Shows are on the "Comedy Network" website to view north of the border. They usually only go back a month.
