Thanks. I think this was switched at one point. The gatefold indicates a stereo manufacture, the album is mono.

Did needledropping help tame some of the criticisms?

Can a lot of this be done in just pro-tools or are these unique/optimal software for needledrops?

Just my list of tools that I've accumulated and grown accustomed to using, over the years, many only for only one specific task. When I find something that works and get used to using it, I don't often look for a replacement.

This is an analog cut, but the dynamics pretty much suck, not very many peaks and valley's. The Cure's Pornography is audiophile compared to this recording

Keith Jarrett - Best of (Impulse) Alas, this record sounds fine over the stereo, but contains a little more surface noise than is ideal for quiet piano music once digitized and played through headphones. Still a good listen.

Pat Metheny Group - First Circle

    Peter Tosh - Mama Africa

Last week I did digital captures of eight titles over two days. I still have to edit them.

    John Fogerty - Centerfield
    Utopia - A Different P.O.V. (E.P.)
Riot - Fire Down Under (Audio Fidelity reissue)
Steely Dan - Aja (Cisco reissue)
Walter Egan - Fundamental Roll (white label promo)
Three Dog Night - Coming Down Your Way
    Esperanza Spalding - Emily's D+Evolution
    Elton John - 17-11-70+

What is the audio quality of what I could capture off of vinyl using a mid-grade program?` I am concerned that the massive amount of time and effort to produce the digital capture does not justify the final product. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being absolute and complete reproduction - how do you grade your final digital product? I am concerned the answer would be a 4 to 5. The second question, what are your goals in capturing your vinyl to digital? Is it to save money by not having to purchase the more costly CD/SACD formats, or is it to covert your music to a more versatile presentation that can simply travel with you?
