I have original vinyls for all of them but would still like to hear the new SACDs.

I have all of the original vinyl, all of the original CDs, all of the Vertigo CDs, all of the SHM-SACDs, S/T and Love Over Gold SHM-CDs and the Brothers In Arms MOFI SACD. But I still hold out hope that the Dire Straits MOFI SACDs will be released. Glass full guy here !

No, I’m a glass is 99% empty guy when it’s 99% empty. At some point it’s not hope they come out on that date, it’s just wishful thinking.

As I believe I said earlier, I wouldn’t make any decisions based on the hope these (particularly the vinyl) might still come out anytime soon - if ever.

MOFI has a history of some releases taking years to finally come out.
There were a couple of Bob Dylan mono titles announced at the same time as the Dire Straits,
and they aren't out yet either.

Amazon says my order of Audio Fidelity's SACD of Spirit Clear will be delivered this week, and Quincy Jones The Dude SACD will arrive next week. Let's see how fairly close Amazon is with those two delivery dates...

And some “announced” Dylan’s also not out yet either is proof of...what exactly?

But it’s not just that. Combine it with the re-issue of the DS box set. Add in the lengthy radio silence since the release of the Brothers In Arms 45rpm. Then throw in the apparent trend of labels cutting the spigot on reissue licensing.

It’s not happening anytime soon - if ever.

That’s weird. I’m an AF club member and we usually get AF releases a couple of weeks before the general public...

  11. I think he was being sarcastic. Won't both titles cancelled (or at least The Duke)?

Funny, as a member here called Audio Fidelity today, about "Clear," and were told it's on hold, but to keep watching their site.
Amazon, always good for a laugh.

  13. With all the speculation about AF's demise, I originally just assumed that, due to the limited amount of SACD plants in Europe, they hadn't been pressed yet. I guess the joke is on Amazon....

Yes, I was being sarcastic. I know those AF SACDs won't be delivered to me this week or next week, because AF says Spirit Clear is on hold (and reasonable to assume likewise for Quincy Jones). So Amazon ship dates are sometimes guesses, and I believe they probably are guesses for the Dire Straits SACDs as well.

It's not proof of anything. It's another data point that some MOFI titles go years between being announced and their release.
Is the fact that a title has been announced but isn't out yet proof it's not coming?

No, a data point that some Mofi titles go years between being announced and released would be a title that was announced and actually released years later.

Your examples are data points that some Mofi titles get announced and nothing happens.

    Two entirely different things.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? Many, if not most, mofi titles take years to come out
after being announced, that's standard practice apparently. Someone should look up the
record to the longest gap, up there must be The Pretenders debut, it was over 3 years between
the first time it was in the MOFI flyer and when it came out finally in 2015.

The I chose those two Dylan titles beacuse they were
announced the same day as the Dire Straits. Other titles besides the Dire Straits were announced
Nov 2016 by MOFI and haven't come out yet either. That doesn't mean they won't.

The Dylan titles will come out, the previous 17 titles have, it all started in 2012!
Nobody knows when, and nobody knows if the Dire Straits will come out or if they get cancelled.
You don't know what's going on any more than others.

It's also common practice for multiple versions of the same titles to come out.
The MOFI are 2x45 rpm, which the labels will licence separately from 1x33,
    this happens all the time.

    Good grief.

Do you actually think how the Dylan mono series has played out is an analog for how the Dire Straits has and will play out? Do you a actually think a bunch of 33 1/3 standalone releases - all of which either came out within roughly a year of announcement or - LOL, haven’t come out yet - are an analog for the Dire Straits 45 rpm series? Are you blissfully unaware of the reissue of the DS vinyl box in May by the company that has a hand in the licensing rights for the MFSL DS 45rpm releases?

That made me laugh to start the day! I would have started with SACD of Communique for sure and judged from there. I think its time to throw in the towel
