Which I would trust over all the discount houses, since MD is MFSL.

Generally, MusicDirect sends out emails on Monday featuring the week's new releases. Maybe we'll really know in a few hours.

Well, they're not part of this week's new releases in the email I just received from MusicDirect. So much for that!

Spoke to a rep at MusicDirect this AM. He stated all those other retailers are wrong, no DS 45s tomorrow. Still TBA.

I just spoke to John Broggio of the www.hraudio.net site :

    Me :
" you recently told me you don't like to load new releases any earlier than 30 days before the release date. Well, I see that all 4 Dire Straits SACDs from MFSL are loaded, yet MFSL has not announced a release date yet. Since I have a pre order for all 4 should I be excited ?
    Thanks, "

    John :
" According to several retailers, the Dire Straits are due for release on 27 January. Fingers crossed! "

Music Direct has a 15% discount for preferred customers tonight (117LP15). I ordered the lot for that plus the two Lynyrd Skynyrd 45s. Saved a lot. Spent even more. They got me.

Any updates on the SACD's? Release date is 3 days away. Doesn't look good to me if we haven't gotten an official word by now.

I have all four of the upcoming Dire Straits MOFI SACDs on preorder at Music Direct. I sent them an email about an hour ago asking if the SACDs would be released this month. Probably won't get a definitive answer but thought it was worth a shot ;).

They weren't in the weekly new release email MusicDirect sent out yesterday.

They wouldn't be if it wasn't yet released.

It must be a surprise. ;)
I can recall a couple instances when a release came out without the email notification but it is very uncommon. I wonder who these "several retailers" are that reported to the HRaudio site.

One better be Music Direct, they could have started and stopped there. A phone call would solve this mystery. :)

Has anyone purchased the Grundman remastered lps and still considering picking up these 45s? I only have the Grundman Love Over Gold and it's pretty sweet.

    Yes indeedy.
I have all four on pre-order (15% off) from MD. I really dig the MoFI BIA, so I says to me, why not?
The BG's are all quite good, too...

The BG self-titled vinyl is about as good as I need for that one...

I hear ya. Certainly curious. I still have to pick up BIA. Definitely interested, esp after listening to this video:

The Ricker BIA is what I had on hand when the MoFi came out, so that was my existing reference...
If/when the new MoFi LP's come out, I will do my best to provide an objective assessment (and comparison against the BG and a couple UK's) and ignore the fact I would have spent yet another $170 on DS reissues and thereby convince myself they are the best reissues ever.
