Discogs Genre Descriptions

Has anyone noticed that the genre descriptions on Discogs are sometimes wildly off? And I don't mean subtle sub-genres, but things like calling a classical album jazz. I realize that genres are fluid and to a degree artificial, but you would think the descriptions would be more accurate, given the site's discographical detail.

 

Yes, I agree with you. I try to update the most glaring errors. I guess some people add releases without even having heard the content. If I'm not mistaken it is impossible to submit a release without selecting a genre.

 

I find both Wiki and Allmusic more accurate (in my experience).
