I hate Duets, for no reason, even on good songs,
Duets albums, EP, songs, just can`t stand them,
    What about you,

    I don't hate anything. I'm not that bitter :)

Duets can be good, but their has to be chemistry between the two singers and strong material is a plus as well.

Two of my fave duets are from Motown:

It Takes Two - Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston
Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

  7. I adore duets when they're good and they very often are.

    The Everly Brothers
    The Louvin Brothers
    Porter and Dolly
    George and Tammy
    Gram and Emmylou

I could go on and on.

Okay, but that's like me saying let's leave "okay" out of here. I.e. see your own title.

If you'd started a duet appreciation thread I'd be all in.

Besides, VAST amounts of recorded music — classical, jazz, standards, rock, folk, country, etc. — consists of instrumental and/or vocal duets. The only way you could hate all of that is to hate music, or be insane.

It`s more about the real duets like Sinatra album, I`m not talking about background vocals, chorus etc,
Duets to me are generally long, boring, lame, predictable, the singers usually sing on each own, and it doesn`t Rock,
    with some exceptions of course..

The Armstrong and Fitzgerald albums are great; the Marvin and Tammi records are great; the Ray Charles & Betty Carter album is great; plenty of great duets; and plenty of great duos -- Sam & Dave might be my fave. No problem with duets, but I'm like pool of tears, there's not much in the way of music that I actually hate. Life's too short.

I like Johnny & June and Loretta & Conway.

If it's good I can dig it. If it's postmortem sacrilege (Elvis and Celine Dion) I want to blow my brains out.

Under any circumstances, I refuse to hate Duet by Gary Burton and Chick Corea (and could easily name a couple of other great duos, too - even singers, if needed).

I think they are a vastly under-exploited form. 90% of songs are about love in one way or another, so why not hear both sides of the story?

    The obvious answer.

Assuming duets for this poll is about remakes, sometimes duets can improve on an original, sometimes duets make you like the original more.

I usually could do without the gimmick of having an older established music veteran with the new flavor of the month of today.

"Ok guys here's Willie Nelson with the guy from Rascal Flatts" .... (Ok so Rascal Flatts has been around for a long time, but I think you get what I mean :) )

A full album of duets is practically the universal symbol for "my career is in the toilet, maybe duets will sell some records."

If you consider the Davis Sisters or the Everly Brothers duets, then I like 'em just fine, thank you.
If you instead mean "gimmick" duets like Natalie/Nat King Cole or Julio Inglesias/Willie Nelson...not so much.

there was a broadband Internet trial going on in a suburban community outside of Toronto in the mid to late-90's, where the test community was wired with a number of bandwidth intensive services, video streaming, etc. One of the services was on-demand music streaming. At the end of the trial period, reports on usage of the various services were published to the groups involved in the trials.

On the music side, it was interesting to note that there wasn't anything like a clear Top 100 or Top 10 emerging from the data, it was more like a flat line... with one glaring exception... "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" by Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand emerged as the overwhelming most-played song, by a mile!... go figure ;)
