Those games based on Game Shows were pretty fun as I remember.

I loved Gametek. I spent many days enjoying Double Dare, Hollywood Squares, and Wheel of Fortune.

The Japanese version, Family Trainer 3: Aerobics Studio with a Japanese woman introducing the game on the title screen.

Famicom NES Family Trainer Aerobics Studio

Wow, cool! I didn't even know there was a Famicom release of that game.

There were ten games in the Family Trainer series. Some of them came out outside of Japan, others didn't. One of them was the 2nd game, Running Stadium, which came out in the U.S. as Stadium Events.

A circa 1989 Nintendo news story.

Ah, seeing this footage makes me so nostalgic...

I've always liked this game. Never beat it, but the final boss is apparently tough:
(Edit: Nevermind the video, the audio is slowed down. Try to find the Game Center CX episode on it. It's great.)

I always wondered how that game looked. Never played it!

Is it as frustrating as the first one? :)

Honestly, it's been so long since I've played either of them that I don't really remember. I think I may have an old Nintendo Power strategy guide for #2 somewhere that I can dig out if things get difficult and I need some hints. ;)

Wow, that's right! I forgot about that Strategy Guide...

    Thanks, Nintendo Power!

I found II to be a bit easier considering I can beat it, while I cannot beat the first one.

    Yeah, that's the one! :)
I had a few of the other red-covered guides in that same series... I remember using the Super Mario Bros. 3 issue quite a bit, although the one I found to be the most indispensable was the one for Final Fantasy... I don't think I could've finished the game without it!

I remember getting those for a few months instead of the regular issues in my subscription.

I beat it. I almost lost my mind but I beat it!

I remember as a kid being really desperate and stuck with one of the last bosses (that enormous flying thing).
