Just finished up this solid Walnut veneer vinyl stand. Holds 200 LP's. Pretty sweet way to show off your 'current rotation'! What do you think?

    well done!
    nice angles and looks sturdy.
i use walnut a lot for my woodworking projects (although it’s getting expensive, at least in solid form)
my current “rotation” stand is maple and holds 50 up top and 100 or so below (will post a picture someday).

I like cashews also, along with pecans and almonds. However, I think the walnut looks great!!! :righton:

Are you selling these or just make one? I'd buy something like this.

Walnut is my go-to for sure! Have some MCM vintage pieces in Brazilian rosewood too.

Very nice! Have you thought about branching out into plinths for the better older wheel drive turntables? There seems to be pretty steady demand for such things in woodworking these days.

I haven't done any. Although, i'm just waiting for the request. I usually just build anything, anyone requests(steady on vinyl storage). Then, if i get time, I'll take a few pictures to give others a starting point. I would love to do some, they are a great size because its hard to get exotics in larger sizes, but fairly easy to get really exotic wood species in sizes large enough to do a plinth. I'm thinking Zebrawood!!

Check out chechen, osage orange, bubinga...look great in smaller doses.
I built my schiit yggy side panels from chechen...looks super swell.
I’ve also built all my audio racks and vinyl/cd racks...great to combine hobbies.

Chechen is slick! Possibilities are endless. I wish more places would sell more irregular sap cuts. I mean sap line walnut is HOT. But most builders aren't looking for irregular stuff, to me that's the Gold! Lyptus is a really great mahogany alternative. Online examples and in person can be deceiving... when that stuff is clear coated!!! Its so dimensional. Its a pain in the **** to plain, fuzzy as they get, hard to hand work too. Although, man its nice!

Symbol Audio charges $2,295 for something similar in walnut which is highway robbery. I would imagine an affordable alternative like yours would have a robust market!
