the ortofon 2m se is no longer available-any opinions on the less expensive 2m mono which is currently available? Better than the AT or Denon?

Turns out the Ortofon 2M SE is still available, but only on the Acoustic Sounds site. Too expensive for me, though. I am currently running an 'regular' Ortofon 2M Mono and its great, but now I have some hum, which I didn't have with my at150Sa or my Ortofon 2M silver in the same setup - any advice?

Any comments on playing stereo records with a mono cartridge? It certainly gets rid of any annoying hard panning!

I am new to this forum and found this thread interesting. I have 2 mono cartridges: AT33Mono ANV, and Ortofon 2M Mono SE.

I use a stereo cartridge on mono records. I wonder if you lose any dynamics because the coils are in a 45 degree angle, and the needle moves in a horizontal direction when playing mono records.
