Documentaries and concert films only. As much as I like some of the great cable series of the last 20 years or so, starting with The Sopranos, I have no interest in getting them on DVD/Bluray. Same goes for my other TV favorites from any era. Not interested.

I am tempted by the Red & Stimpy box. It's cheap. DVD only as far as I know.

Yes. I wish I still had my 4 disc extended Lord of The Rings sets. I have tried replacing them, but it is difficult finding sets in Collector's condition.

Collector's thing, plus I would like to compare to the Blu-ray with the whole tint controversy.

    NO

    from DVDTalk:

However, taking into consideration the double dip nature of this release, the lack of substantive extras, the missing DTS track and the whole notion of Fellowship on a flip disc, a reduction in score is warranted.

Yep. My wife and I were talking about it last week and it made me want to see it again. Glad I checked the whole listing, or I would have bought the DVD-R. Luckily I found a real one on eBay for a reasonable price.

I meant hasnt happened to me yet. For TV titles like Cheers and Seinfeld DVD is fine as they are not about cinematography but for films I love, eg Blade Runner, Casablanca, 2001, Lawrence of Arabia etc I will only view rthem in HD as SD doesnt do them justice.

I recently came across a used copy of a DVD from the now-defunct publisher MYA Communications... several of their releases are still on my wishlist, but the store was asking $50 for this particular title... totally ridiculous.

there was a time when I purchased so many special/collector additions but I stopped a while ago but still have them, as for there values who knows the LOTR box was fetching up to £500 at one time but I would imagine its worth a fraction of that now
