as long as it makes you happy, it's a good feeling to find a item used for cheap after many years of paying high prices for our media.

    :wave:Right here. I still do.
I don't have a huge library of DVDs, but
I pretty much own all of my favorites.

And you know what, this past year especially,
I've been viewing them on a regular basis
instead of watching regular TV fare (including cable).
I'm having a very nice time of it.

I only buy TV shows like Seinfeld or other sitcoms.

DVDs can look great but I think the new ones are being made of lower picture quality in favor of Blu-ray. So, if I'm interested in a movie, I end up with the BD, because of the picture quality.

I'd like to save and buy a bulk of bargain DVDs, but I'm a little of a videophile  ... Example: "Oh, it's been a while since I watched The Rock (Nicholas Cage). The original DVD is very cheap on ebay! Wait... the remastered Blu-ray just came out on Amazon...". :-popcorn:

So, I don't know what to buy. Blu-ray is making them obsolete.

I'll buy one occasionally if it looks like a blu-ray is not going to happen. Ironically, the last two DVDs I bought were documentaries about VHS collecting.

However, if a Blu-ray doesn't offer spanish subtitles (or any other sub in your native language), it would be better to buy the DVD because it's easier to rip and edit with a computer (in order to add the required subtitles).
