I was in a Goodwill store not long ago and found a bunch of unopened Maxell XLII tapes. Even though I have no way to use them, I couldn't resist buying them. :sigh:

I still have tons, about 60 or 70 commercial releases, hundreds of radio shows and live recordings which I need to finish transferring and hundreds more of needledrops that I will likely never play again and a stash of sealed blanks, I also have too many cassette decks, I last played a cassette on Monday or Tuesday, a pirate radio show recorded in '94 with Dolby S it sounded great, as good as the day it was recorded.

I think I have around 30-40, some newer, some old. A lot of obscure stuff folks on this forum would cringe at. Unfortunately my cassette deck needs servicing so not playing tapes right now. I do have an NOS Walkman I can listen to them on in a pinch...not my preferred format by a longshot but they're kinda fun.

Yes. Just recorded some Beatles and Howlin' Wolf to cassette and listened in my 2005 Silverado.

I still have the majority of my old cassettes. Some pre-recorded albums, some needledrops,...
For some reason I recorded lots of radio shows back in the day. Also I recorded early (and terrible) demos of mine on these.
Though I doubt my cassettes had/have good sound quality, I used both Normal and Chrome (mostly Type II) on several recorders and of course the sound varies.

I was at my parents for X-mass and my Dad found a bankers box full of my old cassettes. I also found a cassette with a recording of the "band" me and my friend formed in the 80's. Mostly it was recordings of our "Eddie's Basement Tour" tour. :)

I'll digitize some of them but mostly they're not really worth playing at this point. Don't want to throw them away though. At least not for now.

I saw pre-recorded cassettes for sale in Urban Outfitters. My teenage son had no idea what it was- I explained how it worked and how it might have been one of the worst audio formats ever 9though convenient at the time)

The only cassettes I bother to digitize are live concert recordings that I or a friend made. Or pre-recorded cassettes that were only released on that format - I have a few, like this one called Quiet Please, There's A Lady On Stage I bought in Toronto of pianist David Ramsden with guest vocals by Jane Siberry of the old Alberta Hunter song The Love I Have For You.
