Anyone please explain to me how you think 'Auntie's' is an option when Dolenz has previously vetoed it.

EDIT: I only see it if they can guilt trip Dolenz by having Keith Allison join onstage.

Purchased tickets for the Philadelphia show, looking forward to it. It will mark my third time seeing Papa Nez. Once solo at the Birchmere in Virginia, last time with Peter and Micky State Theatre New Brunswick, NJ and now as a duo. 8th time seeing a "Monkees" show. Since I spent over $400 for two tickets to the State Theatre show on the secondary market, I am happy to pay less than half that this time, even though the "extra" charges were steep, the total, in my opinion was still reasonable. Should be a great show and should get unique material for a live show!
Prediction's for the set list - all Nesmith penned tunes originally sung by Micky; a couple tunes not penned by either, top candidates for Nez, any of the ones on P,A,C &J, for Micky Goffin/King tunes; A duet for Micky with Coco - "She'll Be There"; finish with "Me and Magdelena".

I hope I am wrong but I don't imagine they will do anything too unusual with the choice of songs. It would be great to finally get a live version of "Auntie's Municipal Court" but please no "Shorty Blackwell". I would imagine Nez would leave the stage to Micky for that one as I can't think of what he would have to do on that song. Above all, I really hope they come to the UK. I would love to take my 6-year old to her first Monkees related concert. I haven't got the time or the bank balance to come to America (unfortunately).

I love Shorty Blackwell. I'd take it live over Clarksville.

    My case:
    - people have been putting bugs in the ears of Dolenz, Nez and Andrew S. about this song for a few years
    - unlike a deep cut like "St Matthew," "Auntie's" is from a Top 10 album that spawned three top 40 singles. Slightly higher chance a a general audience will be somewhat familiar with it
    - This is Mike/Micky tour. This song originally features them BOTH
    - the vocal parts give Coco and Circe something to do

You never know. I wished for my favorite Monkees song Midnight Train since the 1996 tour.
Of course when they did play it in 2016 it was the only tour I missed since '96. I was feeling shaky because I was adjusting to correct blood pressure medication.
    Lol.
But as the Ramones sang, "what can you do?, what can you do?"

All of these were valid for the 2012-2014 tours and Dolenz shot it down (and to be honest I'm shocked Dolenz didn't get Nezed on the issue), so unless someone has any inside info on it being rehearsed I'm gonna chalk it up to wishful thinking. I hope I'm wrong.

Have they ever had a fiddler onstage? Might be a first.

A fiddler would help them out if they do "Sweet Young Thing" in the way it was done on their first LP too...

that would be cool but I'm sure it will be just the usual band...
But I hope they just turn the whole show inside out! Would love to hear mostly deep cuts, some new arrangements, an acoustic number, etc...

Wouldn't it be unusual though if they used Nez's new redux band?

EXCLUSIVE! 7a Records provides first details about upcoming First National Band release

    Just announced:

7a has made an agreement with Michael Nesmith and the members of the First National Band to release a live album documenting their January 2018 performances.

"We are extremely proud and excited to be able to work with Michael Nesmith and the First National Band on this album," Glenn told the Live Almanac. "What I have heard so far literally gave me goose bumps. It's that good. By all accounts this will be a superb album and one of 7a Records' biggest releases to date."

Christian Nesmith is currently in the process of mixing and mastering the recordings, but at this moment, it has not yet been decided whether the album will consist of one full show or a compilation of the best performances from the various stops on the tour. Nez will have the final vote once everything has been mixed.

It seems that both Mike & Micky have been more than willing to release recent live solo shows. Here's hoping they will be willing to record this "Monkees" tour as well!

You know, we might get Nine Times Blue-- especially since Nez has been performing this is in his solo shows.

The big difference this time is they will have Peter’s spots freed up to allow for more tunes. I have to believe AMC is a candidate at least. This is exactly the kind of situation that would get Micky to break down and finally do it. Here’s hoping!
