I have been meaning to post this for awhile but keep on forgetting. Frank Black & the Catholics - Complete Recordings is available on 7digital in FLAC format for $10.99. This is all six of their albums plus a bonus disc of outtakes, rarities blah blah blah. I know most Pixies fans aren't generally giant fans of the Catholics material but if you go in NOT expecting it to sound like the Pixies, it's really great stuff with a top notch band. Most of it was recorded live in the studio without any overdubbing. I highly recommend it and you can't beat the price.

I love the self titled album - it's rough and raw, but there's something about it that just works.

nuclear_error did you buy the FLAC download? I just looked at it and it looks like all the tracks are sequenced in alphabetical order, rather than giving them to you as albums? What's with disc 6? 1 song at less than 3 minutes. It looks odd... I hate it when compilations change the order of songs compared to the album.

I already have them all so no I didn't but it was packaged alphabetically from what I heard to show how consistently good the albums were. As to why they are showing disc 6 as 1 song..beats me. But I do know it's only 6 albums plus 1 of outtakes, rarities, etc.

Warner Music.com has select Albums for Free listed below when you input your email/zip code.

Note, you will receive an email with a download link for the digital album
The Neil Young Box seems to be complete, which is amazing!

I think the pain here is going to get all of this to download through direct link. At least, it is for me (multiple network errors, 3 part RAR and slowww)

  18. The site is down now. But it's interesting that Warner Music is/will be releasing in FLAC.

Same issue for me. Painfully slow and then, eventually, network error followed by a message that the download is blocked.

I was able to download the Neil Young Archives Vol 1. just now with no problems, but all the Rush FLAC links are telling me they have 'expired', and when I enter the order number on Warner Bros to double check, it now shows as 'cancelled'.

Neil Young links for me said expired in the download email. I inquired and received this response:

    Dear ,

We are very sorry for the confusion. This download offer was never officially made available and was posted without permission. The download link that was originally provided is no longer in service for use.

Please note there have been no charges to your account and no payment details were ever collected.

    Sincerely,
    Redemption Store

That is too bad; I wonder if those ny flacs will ever see the light of day again, esp. For those of us who own the box to begin with...
