I don't buy mp3s, but I do buy CDs and since they take a couple weeks to arrive, I download the Autorip files if that title has them.

So, is there a reason, other than hegemony, why you need Windows to download more than one track at a time? Tick all the tracks on a CD in Windows and you'll get them all zipped in one file. But on Linux (don't know about Macs), it will only download the first one. You have to download each one separately. I used to get a pop-up telling I could only download one at a time because I wasn't using Windows.

Does Microsoft pay them to do this or something? I'm just curious.

  2. Macs also download the full album, zipped. Probably a large enough customer base to support it.
