Would it be possible to fit 90 minutes of video (maybe not very high bit rate, but decent) and 24 bit/96kHz 5.1 surround on one disc? Just curious.
There is not even enough real estate on a single layered single sided DVD-A disk to support 24 bit/124kHz 5.1 information without any video to speak of. I expect that blue laser HDTV DVD technology may provide for a high rez audio multi-channel track and at least 480i video, but even the current proposals would not fit 720p/1080i plus high rez audio. Perhaps they will bump up the specs on lossie multi-channel audio such as Dolby Digital or DTS for such disks instead. Richard.
