I only have 1 Macrovision-protected DVD: Saturday Night Fever. The other 2 DVDs I have are a budget transfer of Santa Fe Trail and a budget transfer of 3 Gary Cooper PD movies on 1 DVD: Fighting Caravans, Meet John Doe and A Farewell To Arms and neither of these DVDs are Macrovision protected.

    This is what I use.

Runs on one 9 volt transistor battery. When the battery gets weak the picture quality will let you know.

I have one of those black boxes, which works great for videotapes, but hasn't been able to defeat DVD's Macrovision on the titles I've tried.

Hmmm...one interesting thing I remembered just now is that my Hi8 VCR (yes, I have one of those dogs :( ), I wouldn't have any Macrovision problems when copying tapes. I should get it out of mothballs and see if I can do anything with it.
