  4. I think that's "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country" as I recall the DVD and Blu-ray are the same.

The Kids are Alright- the Blu-Ray inexplicably has none of the extras on the two disc DVD set.

I don't have the blu-ray of The Wrath Of Khan but my understanding is that the blu-ray of that title does not have the extra scenes that are included in the Director's Edition DVD of Wrath Of Khan. Never heard of a director's cut of Undiscovered Country.

Can't believe I forgot this one !!!! I can't imagine selling the SE, esp. with the 5.1 of Who Are You.

What's the DVD got that the BD is lacking?

While the picture is better on the Halloween Blu-Ray (the recent one), I still prefer the sound on the 2 DVD set as well as the extended asylum Michael scenes added for television which strengthen the film in my opinion.

  15. You're right about the director's cut-- there were a couple of alternate shots, extended scenes and a scene I voclving Scotty's nephew that were on the DVD but not the Blu. I had forgotten about that u til I took a look at the bd I fo vs. the DVD.
The director's cut of undiscovered country has an entire subplot that is restored. I don't think that the directors cut for Wrath is a huge improvement or at least not as significant as Undiscovered Country.

    Not saying " loads".
But there must be more examples of the DVD with more goodies included.

On the Blu Ray, in the scene right before the final battle with Thulsa Doom, the dialogue Conan has with Subotai, is cut out. It's the part where he talks about there being no spring wind. Don't get me wrong, the Blu Ray is amazing. I was only disappointed by that part being cut out.

The blu ray edition of Dune ('84) is just the theatrical version and deleted scenes included are just a fraction of what is on some dvd sets.

The superior "Director's Edition" cut is only available on DVD because the new effects were finished in SD.

You should have held out for the French steelbook edition with Barbarian and Destroyer. Fox fixed a number of issues found on the other BD releases of Barbarian 'round the globe. So far it seems to be exclusive to France, at least I haven't heard of it appearing elsewhere yet.

The Criterion DVD of Straw Dogs has an extra disc of bonus features that have not appeared on blu-ray.

Amadeus on blu ray is the extended director's cut only, and IMO inferior to the theatrical cut available on DVD. The theatrical cut won 8 Oscars.
