Earphones for portable listening...

    Very cool, but for $500 I would not take them out of the house, because they would end up in that big "Lost and Found" box of all my umbrellas, gloves, sunglasses, books, money etc. that I have misplaced over the years. :D

    for me personally, the only earphones (not talking about headphones now) worthwhile are the in-your-ear style with a custom earmold. The two companies that have the market cornered are www.ultimateears.com and www.sensaphonics.com

    NOT cheap, you are looking at between $600 to $800 but what a difference a custom earmold makes! (particularly in the case of the Sensaphonics as they use a softer material for the shell).

    Shure makes them with custom earmolds. As far as cornering the market, I think we could say that Shure has cornered the market with their "professional" equipment versus the imitations. The E5's actually are speakers with a crossover!
