I've seen 61 of them, but I think that's fair for someone who's 23 years old and only started watching classic movies as of three years ago.

133 (plus sequels in those trilogies listed) in the last 10 years, since I started watching movies seriously (around age 18)...

Yes you are correct... a slip up on my part on that particular point. Sad to think Kubrick wasted the last two years of his life making such a dud flop as Eyes Wide Shut, even when seen in its unmodified version Reputed to have done up to 137 takes on one scene alone. If that was not a gilt edged calling card for the condition - O.C.D, I do not know what is.

  4. 128, give or take a couple I'm not sure if I've seen or not.

I love Roger Ebert, but - The Wall? As in Pink Floyd? A great movie?

About 130. Disappointed not to see my all time fave, Local Hero, which should certainly be there. But this is a work in progress. Itll turn up.

He only gave it ***, so I don't know why it's on the list.

He also gave *** to Congo & Speed 2.:D

One thing I like about Ebert is that sometimes he'll surprise you like that... he'll really enjoy an obviously less-than-stellar movie (like Congo or Speed 2) and admit in his review that he had a great time just turning off his brain for 2 hours... his star ratings for these types of films are on more of a "did it keep me entertained?" level, which is sometimes all a movie-goer wants. (One of my favourite opening lines from an Ebert review is: "Imagine my astonishment at enjoying Under Siege 2") ;)

Were there any examples of post-1980 American "indie" films on the list? I don't recall seeing any.

    105. Ironically, I had just loaded the Criterion of Stagecoach into the Oppo, before deciding to go online. It'll be my first time seeing this film.

Probably around 120 or so, not including a fair number I recall having seen parts of, or films that I probably saw when I was a kid but have no clear recollection thereof.

I think I've seen about 40 of them.

Lot of foreign films in there I've never heard of.

I've seen about 35 of these. I'm actually surprised that I've seen that many of Ebert's picks. I loved the way the guy wrote about movies and I looked forward to his reviews of new releases in the paper every Friday, but our tastes rarely intersected.
