    Styemaster,
You may want some input from the experienced vinylphiles on the board before jumping in any direction. Where are you Sckott & Luke?

Just my Canadian pesos worth ;)

Hmm, are we talking Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin??

Well once someone says "Pink Floyd's Greatest Hits", no matter how its packaged, I want to vomit. I'm sure it's an intelligently arranged package with many clever song crossfades, artwork and such.

Pink Floyd always went after something different. Every album tackles something so incredibly seperate. I can't believe the same band that made Atom Heart Mother made Meddle and DSOTM. I just can't. They're all amazing works of art, very special.

Oh, well Led Zeppelin, you COULD have gotten "Hey Hey What Can I Do" from the CD single for Immigrant Song. Warners released it on one of their label-looking CD singles packages. But, you bought the box set? Not a crime. No biggie.

Yes I liked the box set, but I tend to really enjoy what Classic Records has done to Zeppelin. The George Marino/Jimmy Page Cds are also very intelligently remastered. Better clarity, bass isn't loose and watered down. Plus, it wasn't Mewed or 24 1/2 bit remastered to hell.

Box set sounds really nice on Vinyl too.

Led Zeppelin was one of the 1st groups ever to have a major LP-to-LP catalog overhaul for 'better sound than previously' in CD technology(1990). The whole Zeppelin catalogue and the sales it brought Atlantic woke up a lot of people in the corporate label world.

What do they put in the water up there?

I'll put on the disclaimer that I'm not speaking on behalf of the guy, but do you even read Luke's posts? If you did, you would know he's a) not an "vinylphile" and b) not big on Pink Floyd, and c) Zep is way down on his list.

What is up with these mini-fan clubs?

    /end rant

I don't like the idea of a Pink Floyd "best of," but you get "Tigers" and that makes me have to have it. Plus it's cheap.

Re: Zep, you want "Baby Come On Home," don't you?
