I am trying to find a cd version of the song "Johnny Pissoff"
    (a. k. a. "the Illiad")
I believe it was written by Ed Sanders before he joined (formed) the Fugs.
Does the song still exist out there?

Electromagnetic Steamboat- The Reprise Recordings shows Johnny Pissoff Meets The Red Angel, is that the same? It shows to be in print also on an in print live Fugs album

No, unfortunately that is not the song.
The Fugs have a number of versions of J.P Meets the Red Angel on their various records, but the song I am looking for is simply called "Johnny Pissoff". I think it was the start of what became known as the "Johnny Pissoff Credo".
Anyone know how to get it?

I searched AMG and all I got was the one "....meets the red angel."

    What lp was this on?

I've done a bit more research and I believe it was on an Ed Sanders LP called "Sanders Truckstop" (Reprise #6347). Does anyone know if this is available anywhere??

The Illiad ("Coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee...") is also on one of the Warner Bros samplers from 1970, entitled "The Big Ball." The liner notes indicate the track is indeed taken from Ed Sanders "Truck Stop," but, for what it's worth, the Reprise LP number is given as 6374 rather than 6347.

The track is not on any CD that I know of...

BTW, "Johnny Pissoff Meets the Red Angel" is on the Fugs' Reprise LP, "It Crawled into My Hand, Honest." The album also has "Wide Wide River," one of my fave Fugs tracks. Funny, but cogent.

BTW, all of the Fugs Reprise recordings are available at Rhino Handmade.
