I found a discarded ELAC Miracord 750 made by Benjamin Miracord Co. in Western Germany that I'm thinking of using for my turntable. Anybody have any knowledge of this animal or company.

What were you doing in Germany, Larry?:)

It's worth about $100.00 on the net. It probably would be a good TT for non-critical use on used (not valuable) records.

Had one in the 70's I used with both a Shure and with an Audio-Technica cart. My records are none the worse for it.

This was the turntable in the first audiophile component system I encountered. Later on, though, when I had to service them, they became the bane of my existence. I could never make the auto mechanism work right!

If this is one of the models I remember, I think you'll find the arm to be relatively massy. ANd the turntables were rim-drive, so expect a certain amount of rumble.

True. The things were problem-prone (usually after some years of use, however).
