    Hi Peter

I hope I am not secretive :) I suspect the reason I have not jumped in and shouted when I find a cheap rarity is in part because I am unsure about the source and I don't want to waste other forum members time. As the posts with Matt above shows sometimes they are back-ordered ghosts. From other members I have found out that they have had very bad experiences with other suppliers (for a non DCC disk in the case I have specifically in mind). Until I have dealt with someone and have the CD in my hands I have a reluctance to shout about it. The Ringo disk was such a huge reduction over the only other place I know having it that I made an exception but with a rider.

I have spent a "couple" of hours surfing for the DCC Gold and vinyl resources and have drawn up a little spreadsheet (as I suspect many of us have) and if asked I will always honestly answer as to where I have seen the cheapest of any disk. Many of the finds are one-offs and truth be I buy what I find many the time.

I managed to snag used copies of CCR Bayou Country, Willy and the Poor Boys and Cosmo's Factory for £40 together from Redeye in Australia last night.:D

Good luck everyone with the Ringo - (now where did I put the details of that dealer with the DCC test copy of Tull's Benefit ;) ) - Andrew

Yeah, I've actually seen those discs sitting on the rack at redeye. It's amazing it took so long for someone to notice! The only reason I didn't get them is that I've got the box set and numerous other CCRs already and whilst I'm sure the DCCs are better I just can't bring myself to buy anymore.

By the way, that's not all they've got :D

I spotted 3 Doors CDs and 2 Cream at $25 each and $35 (for the double) are there any more on the secret Australians only site they have :)

Only the ones that sell as many disks as you can carry for $5 - and then I woke up :D

I'm all ears - which does not make for a pretty sight - Andrew

Peter, I don't do the record shops on a regular basis. Maybe you could, as I'm kinda busy with ebay.;)

Hey! What happened to aashtons retail posting links?

Now hears something I thought of lying in bed at 2am last night (yeah, I've got a sad life!).

How many CDs were printed in these limited number Elvis DCC releases? Was it 9,999 or 10,000?

If you look at the scan of the $338 ebay Elvis the number is "0001". Well that suggests that the last copy is "9999" because they've only allowed for 4 decimal spaces, right?

So if they pressed 9,999 CDs then the first one would be "0001", BUT if they in fact pressed 10,000 THEN the first one must be "0000"!!

    Just a thought.

You get to bed before 2 - I'm impressed ;)

I knew there was a reason why I didn't click the bid button on a $500 proxy bid this morning - thanks Peter it was eluding me.

    All the best - Andrew

What about the ones without number? I have two sealed copies without the sticker which tells the "Limited Edition No.".

If you are talking about Elvis DCCs they can't be factory sealed copies because to the best of my knowledge the sticker is UNDER the plastic not ON it!

That's how my Elvis Is Back was when I received it.

Yes, I'm talking about the Elvis 24 Karat Hits CD. I have two copies I bought from two different sources. If they would have been resealed the sticker should still be on the slipcase.

So, does anybody else have a sealed ELvis DCC CD without the Limited Edition No. sticker?

I bought two from Hollywood Sound in LA for $30 each. The one I have is not sealed but I opened it. It has no limited edition stickers. The other one I kept sealed and swapped it with Joachim for a "Blues in Orbit" SACD. It didn't have the limited edition sticker either.

    Geoff

Actually it was for "petzi", so that means we have another sealed Elvis 24 Karat Hits CD without limited edition sticker. Perhaps the stickers were just used for the first 9999 copies ...

Man, I'm sorry to make that error. I should have checked through my email before pressing "Submit".
