You are not wrong. After 1970, Elvis rarely deviated from an established, standard set-list, but it did change from time to time, from year to year. However, by the mid-1970's, there was a core set-list that was largely in place with only a few select tracks being interchanged from year to year. That being said, Elvis was delivering credible vocal performances during the March 1974 tour, and as such, this upcoming Murfreesboro release is a bit more intriguing than a number of recent soundboard releases.

Very few openings in the set-list. Very few. He occasionally worked in a track from a recent album. But that's it. It was the Elvis Presley Show! Locked down tight.

It was actually a good format -- at least with a killer signature opener and natural pace anyway. But sadly never used to experiment anymore. By the mid-70s it was hit-and-run. Get in-get out. An element of giving up, I suppose.

I listened to disc 1 from Las Vegas 74. We now have 5 shows from this residency. Below from ElvisPresleyFTD.com Follow That Dream (FTD) | Release Lists
There is also the tape/boot of the infamous final show from this Vegas stint.
    74
    Nevada Nights
    August 19, 1974 + August 21, 1974
    Soundboard Concert
    148
    Elvis Las Vegas '74
    August 20, 1974 (DN + MD)
    Soundboard Concert
    15
    It's Midnight
    August 24, 1974
    Soundboard Concert

There was a bit of sort of edginess from Elvis at one point during Fever (what are doing Duke?) and a rather odd introduction for John Wilkinson as to where he was from. Wilkinson stuck it out throughout Elvis's concert years but I always get a feeling of tension from Elvis towards him.

Got the „Stage Rehearsals“ FTD from 2011. I know about those complaints about the intro editing but I must say that I like that release very much, great SQ also.

Regarding the "Stage Rehearsal" title, a member from another site reported that track 18 (I'm Leaving It All Up To You) has a horrendous mastering fault at the end of the song, where part of another unidentified song is playing over the top of the recording (From 42 seconds onwards).

Have you found this to be the case as well?

Pre ordered Murfreesboro '74 just now. Even though I didn't attend, knowing he was 10 miles from my home in 1974 is pretty exciting.
Should make a nice addition to my collection.

Wonder what he did in those 4 days between shows ? Any books cover this ? Any y'all know ? I know he didn't come to Smyrna, looking to hang out with a 16 year-old me.

That is how I feel about his shows in Fort Worth. I grew up about 10 minutes from Tarrant Co. Convention Center. He played here a week after MSG. I wish THAT was on CD. I was conceived around this time, so I missed the show. :p

    That’s pretty cool.

I was 9 when my folks left my brothers & I for a show at the Anaheim Convention Center in 73’. I remember asking my Mom if my Dad had been crying (hadn’t seen it before?) She said “yeah, emotional night for your father. Thinking about your Grandmother and...well...Elvis. He’s ok, son - just happy.”

Makes me root for that show to be released. Unless I missed it.

You inspired me to preorder. I’ll be thinking of that “16yr old you” at least the 1st spin.

My only other experience was as a 13 year-old, still in Chicago, and my buddy next door, an older guy, saw Elvis there in Chicago. 1972. Before we moved Oct.1st.
The day after, he couldn't stop talking about how great the show was. How the ticket price was SO low for the experience he had.

He was certainly photogenic that night. The photos for the "Burning Love" and "Good Times" albums came from the 6/18/72 Fort Worth show. If we ever invent time travel...

I‘m curious about more rehearsal FTDs. I’ve read good reviews about From Hawaii to Vegas but couldn‘t find anything here about the ´74 From Sunset to Las Vegas FTD... ?!

I think what they mean is that they have no more stocks of Guitar Man and it will not get repressed. They probably have some stock left over for Harem Scarum and when they are gone, it will be deleted from their listing too.

It is an interesting look at one of the rehearsals leading up to the August/September 1974 Las Vegas engagement (a rehearsal that had been booted for years). It is sourced from a cassette that belonged to Ed Bonja, and considering its age and condition, it sounds pretty decent (before Ed sold it to Ernst/BMG in the 1990's, he allegedly used have it in his cassette deck in his car as he drove around). Not nearly as distant and boomy as "From Hawaii To Vegas," which nevertheless contains a better rehearsal. Still, Elvis worked up a lot of alternative material for the August/September engagement, so this is a nice opportunity to explore his creative process (although four takes of "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)" is a bit much...). The additional live tracks from the engagement in question that round out disc two are relatively uninteresting, however, the original pressing contained a controversial snippet of in-concert dialogue from Elvis that was later omitted on subsequent pressings, giving the listener a glimpse of some of the craziness that surrounded Elvis' behavior during this casino engagement. It is an important release for the deep Elvis enthusiast to have, but for others, it is less essential.

    Good to know.
I‘m so happy with The On Tour Rehearsals and the Stage Rehearsal FTDs especially regarding SQ. I‘ll pass on the cassette recordings.

Now Dig This, Shop Elvis and Graceland Store are my go to places for purchasing FTD's. Many here swear by Elvis Shop London, but I personally have had nothing but bad experiences dealing with them, so I cannot personally recommend them, although I to an extent understand why people do like them.

Also welcome to the forums! :D

Some examples include: poor communication on their part, lack of shipping notice, getting my shipping address wrong almost all the time despite numerous efforts to have this corrected (I believe they do a lot of their processing by hand, thus exponentially increasing the chance of human error) and in general I've just found them frustrating to deal with. When I was trying to work with them to actually get things shipped (and we're talking more than a couple weeks; I am quite aware that buying an overseas product from the US takes time to ship there) I always got the feeling that I was a nuisance to them instead of someone they wanted to help. Maybe it's different for people who live in the UK/Europe in general but it's very frustrating when you are in one country trying to purchase a product from another country, and the company in the other country makes things difficult to such a degree that you could have bought it elsewhere and had it already before you got anywhere with them. So no, unless something changes there I have no intent to purchase products from them and will take my business elsewhere.
