Nah, go Deeper. Flip the record back over Side 1 Band 6. 'Beach Shack' is what you looking for! That song is deep on soooo many levels. Like the saying goes, 'bring along a shovel if you really wanna dig...' to get to the deepness required for 'Beach Shack'! :D

Is Dominic The Impotent Bull available officially anywhere? I have to ask.

I bought a dozen plus of Elvis' 60s soundtrack albums on vinyl last year dirt cheap...couldn't resist but am unlikely to play them much

The first official release was on the 1994 Double Feature CD Release of 'Kissin Cousins/ Clambake/Stay Away Joe'.
Actually it can obtained on the recent-ish FTD Stay Away Joe vinyl. I forgot all about that, my apologies...

that's fair but I think it shows a lack of knowledge about how good an awful lot of his recordings actually were. That is part of my reasoning for the thread. A lot of people in the modern era completely undervalue his recorded work and I feel this is because of a system whereby he is forced to release 3 or 4 albums per year no matter what. If someone claims to like rock and roll, at the very least the fifties masters are essential.
He recorded some fine work in the sixties and seventies, but it tended to be less consistent. For example, your picture suggests that you like radiohead, and that's cool, but imagine if radiohead were required to release three albums a year instead of one album every three years. Surely you can see that no matter how good the band, the quality of the released material would be substantially lower for a plethora of reasons.

    Elvis Is Back
As far as I recall this was always his most renowned album.

I am yet to get the box set, and it will take a little to get through it, but from what I do know
    From Elvis In Memphis
From Memphis to Vegas from Vegas to Memphis (minus the live stuff)
    Elvis is Back
    The first two albums
    His Hand In Mine
    Elvis Country
are at the very least essential albums

The only Elvis album I bought real time was Elvis Country (I was born 10.000 years ago) (1971)think mainly for the album cover :), those were the days when you bought albums just for the album cover, songswise maybe finding you discovered a treasure( not always though). Been meaning to get Elvis Countey2012 legacy series loads of extra songs.

If you don't have some sort of representation of his Sun and 1956 recordings, well, I don't think you have much of a rock and roll record collection there, son.

And neither does the ghost if John Lennon.

The following is/was my own reviewed and rated guide to Elvis albums, covering all of the lifetime albums, followed by thirty key posthumous albums to make up "The Elvis 100."

who are we replying to here? lol
I have the complete fifties masters box ... i tend to agree with the premise of your statement though. I think those early works are essential for anyone who claims to love rock and roll
