I'm curious, why do you have a problem with those lyrics?
Do you even know what that song is about?

Certainly. Been a fan since the early 70s. And I have no problem at all.

I was citing an example of camp in some BOC songs, of which I feel The Marshall Plan and Golden Age of Leather are good examples. It's just an opinion.

The a capella intoduction is hardly the best part of the song (although well executed), but for the rest of the song it is musically just amazing and the rest of the lyrics contrast sharply with that (both lyrically and musically) humorous opening. I think "Golden Age Of Leather" is a masterpiece, and there is no comparison.

I'd rather listen to anything on Club Ninja, there may be bad songs on it, but nothing that makes me cringe in the same way.

Club Ninja is a terrible album. But I like it better than Fire of Unknown Origin. At least it has one great song in "Perfect Water," while FoUO only has half of one in "Joan Crawford."

    Yes, I know nobody agrees.

    I agree to nobody agrees.

  7. Fire Of Unknown Origin is my favorite BOC record. IMO there is not a single bad BOC album....including Club Ninja.

Since we are/were discussing Cultosaurus, I'll take this opportunity to say that Divine Wind is a killer - some of Buck's best work!

I remember buying CE, and thinking...ok this is more like it. Mirrors was ok, but just far too polished. So, I get through side one of CE and I think it's really brilliant....I just love it. Flip it over....and.....wtf. It just sounded stupid. The Smoke On The Water bit....? Don Kirshner? Really? Cheeeeezeeeee. Is this the same band who did Secret Treaties? As soon as it finished I knew I had just heard the worst BÖC song ever (up to that point at least).

I think the last two before the hiatus of recording are pretty bad; Revolution and Club Ninja but both have a couple of decent songs. I agree that FOUO is great. It's probably a top 3 BÖC record for me.

I still find myself wishing that Imaginos was presented as originally conceived rather than in its cut down, record label friendly format. I gather there was more to be recorded, but I doubt that'll happen at this point.

It's funny because BÖC is legitimately in my top ten bands of all-time and have released some amazing albums and great songs, but when they miss they REALLY miss; abysmally sometimes.

Ha, I completely agree (although I rank them as my favorite band over the course of my life). However what I think are the abysmal misses — pretty much everything after Mirrors, including Cultosaurus Erectus and Fire of Unknown Origin, for example — other people seem to love. And I think "Golden Age" is easily their best song post-Agents.

Oh well, at least you all still remember and appreciate them, regardless of which albums you like.

It was originally supposed to be three double albums, so yeah, I doubt we'll ever get that... ;)

    No, it's not! :cussing::winkgrin:
Just wondering, what is it that you don't like about it? The opening part is unecessary, I used to hate that, now I don't mind, although the song doesn't need it. But the rest of the song is excellent to me, what are you hearing?

Unless we all like it (somewhat - like I do) then no agreement there either!

Nothing really bothers me that much on it, and it has three songs that I absolutely love - Dancin' in the Ruins, Perfect Water, and Spy in the House of the Night.

I prefer that album way over the one most people seem to love - Agents of Fortune - which only has two songs that I like - E.T.I. and Reaper.

"Method to the Madness" is pretty good, IMO. "Make Rock, Not War" is laughably bad.
