Hmmmm...couldn't find anything on this one. I wonder if it will contain the 'There's One in Every Crowd' & 'No Reason To Cry' albums. The sessions for the latter might prove to be very interesting since the Band played on the record and Bob Dylan was apparently hanging around during the sessions. Any hardcore Clapton fans who can speculate on what this set might contain? Edit: I guess 'No Reason to Cry' was recorded in '76, so it is likely not included here. Bummer.
Rehearsals from this time period surfaced years ago and I think they're really a snoozefest. Aimless instrumental jamming on blues changes, or reggae jams that would only interesting to Keef. Buried in the mess was a really neat vocal version of "Misty Roses", that he attempted then dropped. !!! I would hope that this would be more interesting.
I don't know anything about this, but replacing .com with .co.uk in the URL tells me that there's at least one DVD involved.
Something is fishy about this one. Isn't Clapton releasing a new deluxe and expanded version of Unplugged in October. And then there will be an even-bigger box set of 6 CDs from sessions in 1974-75? Sorry if I sound doubtful, but I think this one is either a gray-market release or some big error. There already has been a deluxe 2-CD set of 461 Ocean Boulevard, and I doubt that there will be another focus on 1974-75 anytime soon. Arnie
It also sounds like something he would've said to himself, at the time, when a bottle of Jim Beam miraculously appeared.
jpc.de lists the item on Polydor for €54.-,so I assume it IS official! There is NO further information;also a 3 LP set of the same name is announced!
If this winds up being a legit release I'll have to bite the bullet and buy it. I can never have too much Clapton.
As a previous poster said the material from that period that has surfaced on the underground scenes MANY years ago is listless and nonessential. My wife has about every stitch of unreleased live and studio material of EC and although nice to listen to out of curiosity bears no real fruit.
Reportedly confirmed by Marc Roberty over a week ago (we must be slipping here) - http://www.clapton.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=685#p5169

Wow, that's quite an extensive package they've put together! I have the Deluxe 461 and Crossroads II sets which make discs 1,3 & 4 bit redundant. So I'm looking at Disc 2 (One in Every Crowd) and the Bluray Audio to justify the purchase. Hmmm........
EC's post 70s catalog sits with Warner and so the Unplugged release is coming from them. The 70s catalog is with Universal and looks like they want to release their third EC holiday season box in as many years (Layla, Slowhand and now this). I'm guessing Bill Levenson may be behind the latest one since he had mentioned in an interview (at time of Layla box release) that we would like to look at the mid-70s next. Here's his quote - "BF: Any future Bill Levenson projects you can talk about? BL: Not really, but you never know! I’d love to see what we started with Layla continue on with other Eric Clapton records. 461 Ocean Boulevard has been pretty well researched and developed, but I think records like There’s One In Every Crowd, No Reason To Cry and of course, Slowhand, all deserve a reassessment. It’s hard to believe, but each one will be having 40th Anniversaries over the next few years." Wish this set had an expanded "No Reason to Cry" and a different unreleased live show instead of another copy of "461" and "EC was Here" on CD. I do look forward to the new 5.1 mix of 461 on BD though.
This is an automatic purchase for me. However, I wish we would get the unedited/unfaded master of I Shot The Sheriff. If I remember the tape box picture in Marc's book, the track is close to seven minutes.
Can't have enough EC - count me in. (A good deal of duplication here, though, for owners of the 461 DE and Crossroads 2).....
Incredible. There have been various discussions on this forum from time to time in various threads about how Universal/EC would theoretically approach this period from an archival standpoint. This seems like a very good way of doing it. Some amazing material in there.
