Happy XMas will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl 2LP. The vinyl 2LP will be mastered for 45 RPM and pressed on two 180g-weight discs. Additionally, the DD will included with the purchase of the album.

There's something faintly depressing talking about Christmas in August....... Not for me...

    Talk about Christmas in August?
Why not? What else is new? Costco's been doing it for the past 25 years.

Pretty crappy album cover, Eric. If his musical effort is anything like the effort he gave to the cover I won't be listening.

Christmas LP from Eric? Now THAT i did not see coming. Of course i'll be buying it, Bob did one and I really like that so perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised.

Ugh. He doesn't need the money. He certainly doesn't need the hassle. And nobody needs to hear it.

He could have at least covered the John & Yoko song if he was going to name the album after it!

Do artists really make much money from these? Especially if most of the tracks are old standards. Plus Eric is not much of a writer so publishing royalties will likely be light return in his wallet, if indeed he has written anything new on this record and its not going to sell that much.

I genuinely hope you enjoy it - I'm not being snarky when I say that. But I have no idea why he'd make this album.

The idea is as half-a$$ed as the album cover

He'll get publishing on the public domain tracks, and mechanicals on the whole thing - worth a few bob if he gets a nice Xmas advert sync. Not to mention ending up on a Spotify Xmas playlist if he's lucky.

People here sure love to hate ;) If EC wants to do a Christmas record, more power to him. Many of the greats in music have done Christmas records,Elvis,Ray Charles,James Brown,Bob Dylan,B.B. King,Sinatra,James Taylor,The Beach Boys,Booker T and the MG's,Jimmy Smith,Kenny Burrell and many, many more. Were they sellouts, money hungry? like EC maybe they just wanted to do a Xmas record..
There are some blues tunes on here..Christmas Tears/Freddie King,Lonesome Christmas/Lowell Fulson,Merry Christmas Baby/Charles Brown. So no doubt we can hear EC play some nice blues on some songs.
Come on folks at least hear it before you hate it..lol
To get you in that holiday mood,EC can smoke on some Christmas blues ;)

I'm on it! I make at least one new Christmas music addition to my collection every year, looks like I'm good for 2018!

Hope it was an analog recording like "I Still Do." I think I'm one of the few who actually likes that record...

Not sure what to make of this. In fact, I always respected him for not doing this sort of thing. But I'm willing to keep an open mind and give it a chance. Hopefully, he will surprise everyone.

I like Eric but he jumped the shark back in the early 80's. YMMV
