In my opinion one of the true rock masterpieces and with the possible exception of Blonde on Blonde, perhaps the best two record set in the history of rock music (and I love The White Album, Allmans at Fillmore, Layla, The River & Ladyland)

    But that's just me...

    Peace-

I love it, but I also think it's overrated. I think it is one of their 4 best albums, but unlike most critics, I would put it behind Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed, and Beggars Banquet. I do think it's a great album, I just don't think it's their best.

I think of the Stones as going through two phases in their early years: With Brian Jones I think LIB and BB are the best, I think of SF as transition of the two phases and I think EOMS and Some Girls as the best from post Brian Jones.

    An absolutely sprawling, messy masterpiece.
