Eyepatches in Film and Television

She has some pretty fancy ones too.

 

Yep!

 

Had to wear a patch for over a month recovering from eye surgery. Could not drive, broke glasses doing dishes and could not put toothpaste on the toothbrush. Even stairs were hazardous. Not fun.

The patch mostly spared other people the sight of an injured eye, which is very jarring.

 

Actually, I believe the eyepatch would have served the purpose of protecting your eye from exposure to light during the time of healing, so it was beneficial to you, as well as sparing others from an unpleasant sight.
