Would have by far preferred this or something like it over the austere cover we got. People forget the humor that ran through Nirvana's music - as displayed fully by a greatest hits with a cover that looks like a damned grave marker...
Glad you liked the alternate cover, and yeah I'm not a fan of the original cover either. Good point about people forgetting the honour found in Nirvana's music. Past Masters is another example of a great album with a poor cover. Even just adding a picture of The Beatles would've improved the cover.
My cover for the album that could have come out if it hadn't been for Saturday Night Fever Albums Back from the Dead: Bee Gees - "Night Fever"
A little hypothetical double album by The Beach Boys to follow up their SMiLE album If anyone's interested in seeing the rest of the album cover heres the link The Beach Boys - Indian Wisdom (1968)
I really love the clarity of the picture but prefer the original font and inclusion of the track list.
CHVRCHES is bringing out their third album Love Is Dead on 25 May (my birthday!?) this year. So far two new songs came out already and they announced the tracklist and official album cover, which I think looks good but not great as the older albums. Here's artwork I made for the album but based on typefaces they used on the other two records. Pic 1: Standard CD/vinyl release; Pic 2: Deluxe CD release; Pic 3: Deluxe vinyl release (based on the coke bottle transparent vinyl for Every Open Eye)
Thanks for the feedback - glad you like the watercolour. I like the original except for the awkward wrapping of the title around Bob's head – not centred, balanced or anything!
