Last thread. Last show of the run. Last ride of the Core Four. What a long, strange trip indeed.

I won't be watching live tonight, but will be looking forward to checking in for set list updates and thoughts/feelings on this historic show.

On the couch PPV style with the wife tonight. All my jitters about them delivering for these shows is long gone now... looking forward to another great time.

DVR is set and I'll be tuning in as soon as the Women's World Cup final ends: no extra time or penalties this year, please!

  7. Thanks for these live threads, takes me back to the 3 Ali-Frazier fights which were not on radio or public TV, I'd tune in for post round radio summaries, just like here:

"Trey delivers a shimmering triple guitar lead flourish, Bobby booms on the vocals and here's Lesh with a thundering bass, Bruce and Jeff rattle the keys while Bill and Mickey produce thunder and lightening!

I think you will be off about 30 minutes; 7pm ET kickoff, probably ends 8:50 unless you are watching the show DVR; Lord knows you can catch up by the time the set break is over.

Yep, I'm aware but the tournament (always) takes precedence...I'll be actually DVR'ing both. (True Detective will have to wait until a later re-air!)

Will catch what I miss of the beginning of the concert at some point tomorrow when I transfer it over to a hard drive. (Or if Sirius is truly almost a hour behind as someone noted yesterday, I'll be caught up by the start of the second set!)

  11. I'll be watching from the cinema at the Buckland Hills mall in Manchester, CT.
    Pre-gaming at the Texas Roadhouse.
Hoping for a China Cat > I Know You Rider and The Other One tonight.

  12. I just hope Phil doesn't sing Terrapin - let Trey or Bruce handle it, or trade lines.

I think I'm going to watch it next weekend. I expect the show will run long.

Go U.S.A in the Women's World Cup tonight.
I am going to PRV the show.
Hopefully I can watch the first set before bedtime.

  18. Playing something, new and unique for the occasion would be great, say a jam, use this (below) as an inspiration, starting point to really put a stamp on tonight - it's the Good Old, Grateful Dead way.

It's necessary so much planning, practice and organization had to be done - but now it's time to let their freak flag fly and let go!

Close set one with a "heritage" salute involving Robert Hunter, Donna Jean and others - then open set 2 with a unique jam and fly off into the stratosphere from then to the finale' - which should be very emotional.

What time are they going on tonight? Is it an early start because it's Sunday?

Another fine, Chicago day. We'll never have the Superbowl, but this might be the next best thing!
Too bad the Taste wasn't happening at the same time. Every vendor would sell out.

    My guesses:

    Touch of grey opener
China > rider in the first set
Terrapin early second set (maybe into space)
Out of space with attics of my life > throwing stones > not fade away (a cover, I know, but I still think they play it

I think you will get 2/3 of that request.

Good call, that would be a good one for Trey. I think they are off the trading lines bit, that was a train wreck in Santa Clara no pun intended.

I forgot about Attics. I might switch throwing stones with so many roads or days between but you might be right.
