Thanks to you i found out i haven't got any Curiosity Killed The Cat 12 inch so thanks to you i can still make some chances before it's finished.
Here's a weird one for you all: My local 'new-wave' radio station(WLIR) had a special 're-mix' of Cult Hero's (The Cure) "I Dig You", which deteriorated into a "Stars On 45"-style 'mash-up' of different songs, using the beat from the song! Don't know if it was every played outside of Long Island, but, I found it on YouTube, so, here it is!
I have that one. Very nicely compiled. When it comes to 80's 12 inches i find the Grand 12 Inches series and the So80s series very good. Also the later Dance Classics from volume 17 on provides loads and loads of 12 inches, their spin offs as well.
It has the 12" version of Duel by Propaganda, my favorite 12" of all time. I have 3 different pressings. An original near mint UK, the EU version, and a NM Japanese pressing I found last year at the Record Fair in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Saw the previous Lene 12"er and I thought of this. Not really a remix, more of an edit, but it's not commonly heard:
Funky-ass stuff Trip! There was a Mexican electronic band back in the 80's, man I wish I could remember who they were. I had an old cassette by them decades ago. I'm sure they had some good ones as well
Absolutely! No Promises heard during the "morning music" segment (8am) on the surround sound system at the Saint nightclub in NYC. Heaven on earth!
Ashford & Simpson " Bourgie Bourgie. One of the crowning achievements of the era, the production is out of this world. It's an instrumental.
Didn't know that Clash Train In Vain track, but during the drum intro my brainplayer immediately started Garbage - Stupid Girl. And sure enough Wikipedia page revealed they sampled the Clash drum track.
Kate Bush "Cloudbursting" Time Lords "Doctoring the TARDIS" Soft Cell - almost all of them Spear of Destiny - "Liberator"
The Timelords, yes how could i forgot that one. It's been added. I have the Organon mix for "Cloudbusting" included.
I couldn't find the 12" version on youtube, but Island had a 12" that I think was promo only, that had this track that immediately followed with a dub version on the same side. Great sound that jumps out of the speakers. The LP version that came out on Mercury, not quite at hot (mastering wise) Cristina - What's A Girl To Do
One last one for now, that I also never saw but for a promo copy, a Brian Eno remix of I zimbra by The Talking Heads. Timed 3:55. Perfect.
