    Sho' nuff.

I was in the mosh pit for the first six shows (Hartford through Pittsburgh). The tricky part was timing your move forward as NIN's set ended and Bowie came on. I did pretty well for the most part, but broke the arm of my glasses in Toronto when some kid landed on my head.

There was a pit for those shows? I forgot about that!

No way I would've gone anywhere near a mosh pit during a NIN show back then - or now, for that matter, though at least today, all the moshers are old and less threatening! :D

I bet. I've got Giant Sand with Jason Lytle coming up soon, very much looking forward to that.

Ry Cooder with Nick Lowe was pretty special.

    Awesome/epic concert from my youth.

The Scorpians (sic) were hot, Hagar crushed, but Travers was on fire that night and 'won' the show.

It was pretty intense. I would hang out toward the back of the pit during NIN's set then push forward during "Subterraneans". If you timed it just right, you could get on the front row for Bowie. Things settled down once he'd come on, but there was still the risk of a few stray kids going over your head during the early numbers.

Fantastic tour. The later European dates were great, but for the intensity and uncompromised artistic vision, you can't beat those North American dates.

Arguably the best setlists for Bowie diehards ever - just one rarity after another!

Not so good for casual fans, which is why the NINers weren't happy - and clearly why Bowie introduced "Under Pressure" into the set a few weeks into the tour. He must have felt like he needed to throw a bone to all the attendees unfamiliar with the rest of the show - which was pretty much everyone! :D

Indeed. I always felt "Under Pressure" to be a slight concession to the later audiences on the tour.

The early shows on that tour were very special. No hits whatsoever. Half a dozen songs in a row from the then-unreleased Outside album (it didn't hit the stores until the end of September 1995), and deep album cuts like "Andy Warhol", "Joe the Lion", "Nite Flights". A hardcore Bowie fan's wet dream.

Iggy/TheRamones was fun, Jeff Beck/ Stevie Ray had to be my favorite, though.

That was an erroneous poster though. It was officially announced in the press releases as a co-headlining tour. Bowie achieved that and go on last every night only because Trent Reznor was such a fan. NIN did DB a huge favour on that tour really.

The first concert I ever attended was ELP / Yes and I'm not sure I've seen another double bill like that since.

Every poster, flyer, and ticket stub I have seen from the Outside Tour -- and that is quite a few -- is billed as, "David Bowie with very special guest Nine Inch Nails."

Robyn with Kelis was great. And I say this because I was only there to see Robyn, but Kelis held it down. I'm not really a huge fan of hers, but her set was lots of fun, well mixed, and simple. Overall, a great night.

I saw the Brotherly Love tour in 2001...The Black Crowes headlining, with Oasis and Spacehog opening. I'm a huge fan of all 3 bands, so that was a pretty awesome show to have them all on one bill!
