A genre that I generally avoid, but does From Dusk Till Dawn count?

Some dramatic films -that are not of the kiddie contrived 'insistent horror ' genre - pack more memorable lasting punch with just one or two scenes.
Take that 'completely out of nowhere' violent motel scene in Drive, as one example. Ditto - Hitchcock's Psycho etc.
How can one be surprised and made to recoil and jump, when a film sets itself up to telegraph what's "long coming"? In most cases the viewer is completely bored with all the pretence and think... "if we the viewer can see it coming, now ain't the characters completely dumb and uninteresting to not so see it, too?" From that moment on, one reacts by thinking "Stop wasting my time and attention....just get it over and done with".

Yes the remake was good. I like the old ones they are so cool but Jeff Goldblum did a great job in that movie. He can be quite creepy anyway Lol
