I went for the debut, Like A Virgin and Like A Prayer. If I had a 4th choice Ray of Light would be next. A great album but I prefer the pure pop of the first two over the more serious Ray of Light. The first two are just more fun.

I love Hard Candy. Just wish the drums weren't recorded (mixed?) so badly. They sound totally blown out.

Like A Prayer for sure. Maturity showing with tracks like Til Death Do Us Part. The string sections tastefully applied with Promise To Try, Spanish Eyes, Dear Jessie.... Strong dance tracks too! She had a great era but I lost her after Music.

I went with Like A Prayer, True Blue, and, edging past the s/t debut, Like A Virgin. I've become fascinated with how LAV wins me over with the deep cuts, which she was credited as a songwriter, rather than the professionally written mega-hits. "Over and Over", "Pretender", "Stay", those are all great songs.

Ray of Light just misses out.

Like a Virgin, pure pop bliss and produced by Nile.

Ray of Light, my absolute favourite. I was swept away by the opening track, and the album didn’t go downward after it.

Confessions on a Dancefloor, the updated disco sound for the noughties, great flow.

My wife dragged me to see Madonna on her MDNA tour and funnily enough as much as I preferred her earlier pop studio albums, live the newer material was much better.

Love her first album. Love the singles from everything between that and Erotica, but couldn't listen to the albums when they came out and still can't. Everything after Erotica is good though. Really love Hard Candy for some reason. Don't care much for Rebel Heart.

I’ve always loved the latter. Even though it’s not considered one of her better efforts by many. It was such a relief after 2 hours of Erotica.:D

Other favourites are Madonna, Ray Of Light (of course) and Like A Prayer (the Prince duet cost it being in the top 3).

Also I want to say that Rebel Heart, even though it goes off course more than once, is IMO the best Madonna album since Ray Of Light.

She basically disappeared off my radar after Erotica so i voted Madonna, Like a Virgin and Like a Prayer.

Closely followed by Erotica, Like A Virgin, American Life, Hard Candy and Rebel Heart. Yes, not all of my choices are popular, but I stand by them! :shtiphat:

The problem with the last 2 albums was that there are too many tracks. If she had picked the absolute best 8 or 10 songs from each set and put that out both MDNA and Rebel Heart would have been a lot stronger.

Like a prayer is up there in my all time favourite albums. Then I went for ray of light. Originally I chose music or confessions as my third choice but I haven’t listened them for years so I went on to iTunes for a quick refresh and they both sound pretty bad now so I’m sticking with just two and a feeling of disappointment that my memories of the music is somewhat rosier that the actual albums are!

Got it for Christmas, 1985. Still spin it now and then.
Picked up the limited edition clear vinyl Sainsbury's exclusive last month.

    I picked:

    Erotica
    American Life
    Confessions On A Dance Floor

(Music would be included as well if I could pick more than 3 albums.)

When Ray Of Light was her latest album my 3 favorites were:

    Like A Prayer
    Erotica
    Ray Of Light
