I love Eddie Vedder's music for Into the Wild. A brilliant soundtrack perfectly in keeping with the film.

My other favorite would be the soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Mostly Jon Brion score with a few other songs (ELO, Polyphonic Spree, some Bollywood) mixed in. I love listening to it.

All-time favorite? I dunno. But this week it's "La La Land." Great music and a wonderful, glorious movie.

Although 'Purple Rain' and several Ennio Morricone Soundtracks(including the recent 'The Hateful Eight') are obvious selections. I would also submit soundtracks to these 3 movies.

Here's a few dedicated soundtrack albums, one single and one e.p. - the recordings were almost exclusively made for the films - that bring a smile at times.

I would have included the Claudio Gizzi soundtracks for the Morrissey films Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein also had they'd been in my iTunes library.

The Leatherface soundtrack had a lot of great metal. Sacred Reich, Death Angel and this classic ode to Leatherface!

Anything by Randy Newman is excellent. I did a quick search of this thread and was astounded that he hasn't been mentioned once. But my favorite score has to be Rain by Neil Finn. I've never seen the movie, it looks to be too sad, but the music is not to be missed if you love Neil Finn.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 soundtrack is more my speed: Oingo Boingo, The Cramps, Lords of the New Church, Concrete Blonde, etc.

Sacred Reich was a good live band, though. Saw them in Boston back in 1991 with Sepultura, Napalm Death, and Sick of it All.

Saw them open up for Pantera on the Vulgar Display of Power tour. It was a larger theatre and the Sacred Reich fans were spread out across the venue. Really wish I could have seen them in a tiny club.
