Now THESE guys are more along the line of what I like. More moody and what I consider truly Psychedelic. A lot of these other bands mentioned here just strike me a mellow Pop songs in many cases. I like bands that are more overtly Psychedelic. I don't know exactly when some of these groups came out, but I like them, bands like Plasticland, The Laughing soupdish, The Inn, The Crawling Walls, and of course Spacemen 3. But, I REALLY like these guys! I am most definitely gonna check out their album. Thanks mate! :D

BTW, I cannot frigg'n BELIEVE that no one has mentioned these guys yet...

    THE ELECTRIC PRUNES!!!

    C'mon guys... Seriously... [IMG]

BTW, there is a link on YouTube where you can hear the complete album of Thunder on a Clear Day: Twentieth Century ZOO - Thunder on a clear day (1968) If it doesn't cost too much, I am gonna get this sucker! :D

    (on 2nd thought, $90+ Uh, I guess not... o_O)

Don Van Vliet, the audio Salvador Dali, might've been psychedelic from birth!

Yeah, The Outsiders' CQ is a masterpiece as well.

Not sure if Green On Red are considered 'Paisley Underground', but if so they seem to be my favorites from that scene, unless maybe the Green Pajamas were to somehow qualify.

Green On Red was considered neo-psychedelic because it was a spinoff of the LA underground "Paisley Underground" movement.Peace.

For a minute I thought the question was "favorite Psychedelic Furs from the first era."

Mine would be the first, s/t.

    Barring that, Piper.

Moby Grape live was definitely Psychedelic but in the studio neo-country psychedelia. In other words not truly mind expanding. Thanks for the post.Hope this clarifies things for you.Peace.

Disraeli Gears is not pure psychedelia/mind expanding.A good Blues Rock LP with psychedelic overtones but inherently not pure Psychedelia.Peace.

I thought about '68 but remembered Santana's debut came out in '69. That one's kind of psychedelic

Only heard them through once and I think the price is right for what I paid at around $14 per 3CD box. Sound quality is better than I though they'd be, considering the label. I think the sets will grow on me, as the tracks seem fairly well chosen.

Then there are the two Rubble box sets that are based on the original Bam-Caruso compilation series of the same name. Each is a ten CD set, and they are quite mind-melting. European 60's psychedelia, psych-pop and freakbeat, mostly from UK and the Netherlands.
