Name your three favorite Tim Burton films.

Notes: While Burton didn’t technically direct Nightmare, the film is so widely associated with him that I felt it should be included. Also, while Dumbo hasn’t been released yet, I added it as a future option.

"PWBA" is number 1 by a mile.

    Also picked "Batman" and "Scissorhands".

I probably like "Returns" more than "Batman", honestly, but I have strong sentimental attachment to the 1989 film. I was obsessed with it back then!

Ed Wood is my personal favorite, although it’s close with Batman ‘89. Three was a tie between Pee-Wee and Beetlejuice, but I went with Pee-Wee as it had a stronger story overall.

Every time I think of Edward Scissorhands, I think of this... Seinfeld ruined it for me

I just looked at Tim Burton's IMDB page and noticed that Beetlejuice 2 has been officially announced with Tim Burton directing. They're making sequels of everything nowadays. Wasn't aware of this one.

I loved "Mars" when I saw it theatrically in 1996, but I gotta admit it didn't go over nearly as well with subsequent viewings.

I thought it was a total hoot that first time but found it considerably less enchanting one later inspection.

I was really surprised it bombed, though. I saw it in a preview screening maybe 3 weeks before it formally opened and I was sure it'd be a smash!

I probably should have voted Sleepy Hollow, but I pressed the Batman Returns button instead, because Catwowan

The one that made me laugh hardest was Pee-wee's Big Adventure.

The one I re-watched most often is Beetlejuice.

The one that really moved me was Big Fish.

There's a lotta things about me you don't know anything about, Dottie. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't understand. Things you shouldn't understand.

Ed Wood. Probably a top ten film for me.

I've only seen a few, but of the ones I have seen, Big Fish is my favorite. I also enjoy Beetlejuice a lot and I had to pick Pee-Wee since it is so incredibly funny. Of these three, Beetlejuice has the most staying power even though I think Big Fish is a better story. I like Edward Scissorhands too, and I enjoyed Ed Wood, but thought Mars Attacks! tried too hard to be funny and failed. Charlie/Chocolate Factory was a total disappointment and I never finished watching Planet of the Apes, it lost my interest about 20 minutes into the film. I did make it all the way through Alice In Wonderland but wish I hadn't. Those are the only ones I've seen.

I voted for Mars Attacks because I am a huge fan of the original bubblegum cards. These came out when I was 7 years old, and had a big effect on my childhood. The cards were so scary that parents forced Topps to take them off the market. They were awesome!
I actually didn't like the film that much, I would have much preferred a real sci-fi horror treatment instead of a parody, but that's Tim Burton for you. The cast did a good job with the script they were given, and I appreciate that someone made the film at all.
There's an excellent coffee table book about the career of artist who painted them, Norman Saunders, if you can find it.

    Ultimately I went with
    Ed Wood
    Batman
    Beetlejuice

Almost went with Edward Scissorhands which actually made me cry at points.

Actually that’s been bounced around for a while now. Who knows if it will actually stick this time.

BIG FISH (which I found extremely moving) is right behind those three along with EDWARD SCISSORHANDS.

The Large Marge sequence is a classic.

There was no option for his short film version of Frankenweenie, but I would have voted for it.

I didn't much like "Wood" when I saw it in 1994, but it's grown on me a lot over the years.

Kinda the opposite of "Mars", which I loved initially but then found less enchanting...

Why is "Dumbo" in this poll? It's not been released yet!

MARS ATTACKS that's the reason I'm not a fan...he ruined a wonderful Card Set from 1962...turning a horror story in to a lame comedy.
