Pick up to 5 70s Bowie classics based on these UK released singles.

    Use the 'other' option for flops/singles released in other territories such as;

    Changes
    Time
    Let's Spend The Night Together
    Rock 'n' Roll With Me
    Station To Station
    Stay
    Suffragette City
    Be My Wife
    Look Back In Anger

Look Back in Anger should be an option, but I voted for Golden Years as a pivotal Bowie 70s single.

I kept trying to select more than 5! :help:

As I said in the initial post, it's based on UK single releases. LBIA wasn't released here, but you can vote for it in the 'other' option

I can't vote against "Heroes" even though I think the single edit is a travesty for both cutting out the build up of the first two verses and cutting out the last "we're nothing" verse.
Really, a song like that shouldn't start with a line about dolphins, no matter what the metaphorical significance of it is.
Edit: Now that I see this is a multiple vote poll, I'll add Rebel Rebel, Diamond Dogs, Sound and Vision, and Young Americans, even though I also find the single edit of Young Americans to be a travesty.

Glad you included 5 of my favorites. You've beat me and everyone else at these poll threads. I give up. ;)
It's about time I get back to Bowie. I don't know where to start there's so many wonderful albums/eras to choose from.

You could do the Bowie 80s singles poll. That way you could big up 'Never Let Me Down'!

The 5 choice option could've been 10! He has so many great songs. For the moment Fame is stuck in my head. It truly needs to listened to loud. I recently got the Nothing Has Changed comp which sounds really nice. But the go to for Fame for me is the RCA Changes one CD which can still be found on ebay for not too crazy a price.

Impossible to pick just five, but I had to throw an 'Other' vote in for "Be My Wife". Side one of Low might just be the greatest Bowie album side.

Please to see 'Life On Mars' is in the lead. That's my favourite of all of them!

Only one I voted for, one of the best he penned (along with "Changes"... And most of "Hunky Dory" for that matter!)

'Life On Mars' was probably the first Bowie song I ever heard. Actually, it might have been 'The Laughing Gnome'! Anyway, I always loved LOM. I recently heard Barbra Streisand's 1974 cover of it. She sings it like she would 'People' or something and it's hysterical. I'd like to think Babs is in on the joke, but somehow I doubt her sense of humour is her strong point!

Have a listen, if you haven't already heard it.

    OK, I went with:

    Starman
    Rebel Rebel
    Life on Mars?
    Young Americans
    "Heroes"

The other three I was considering were "Fame," "Golden Years" and "TVC 15."

And btw, @Bobby Morrow, I took a look at your ONJ poll and, as far as I can tell, you didn't limit the number of selections on that one. :)

Or...could it be that you couldn't limit yourself to 5 on ONJ? Hmmm?

    That was tough

    Starman
    Golden Years
    Young Americans
    Heroes
    Beauty & The Beast

    Could easily have voted for

    John I'm Only Dancing
    Look Back In anger
    Boys Keep Swinging
    Be My Wife
    Sound & Vision

No, I think it was what I said!

I've done polls with one choice and been moaned at because it's not enough. However, some people don't like multiple choice polls because it 'dilutes' the vote.

    You can't win!:)

That was... Well, it was Streisand!
I wonder why so many artists I'd consider incompatible with Bowie songs covered them? Peter Noone did 'Oh You Pretty Things' didn't he? And Lulu's 'The Man Who Sold The World'... Bowie covers, there's a thread all to itself!
