One thing we did learn in the last episode - Spoiler The date on the graves at the farm, including the only-surviving resident who was killed and buried by the young men, was 2010. So this dates the whole 'event' to around 2009/10 doesn't it? I was a tiny bit drunk and not really concentrating so might've got the wrong end of the stick.
I thought that the season finale was pretty decent. When I saw the actor that played "Chris" appear on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. last week, I kind of wondered if he was done with FTWD.
Cliff Curtis is a terrific actor so it was nice to see the show finally give him some meaty material. His response to Chris' death was incredible. By far the best moment of the series thus far. The season finale finally had some real tension and also some real gore.
I had a hard time pulling for any of the cast members or characters. I dunno I might try it again later. I will watch the original though.
I had a friend who thought the death of Chris in flashback was a disappointment, but I liked it because it helped the viewer to empathize with the sense of powerlessness that fueled Travis' rage. It also was not a cheat since they did show the events through to the end inclusive of an elaborate vehicle stunt. Plus, Travis going convincingly berserk was important since it was the catalyst sending the plot into next season. I also think most people in this thread agree that the macro plot needed a catalyst.
I've watched both seasons of FTWD and I remain....underwhelmed by this spin-off. Of all the storylines they could have pursued......why did they choose this one?! I'm perplexed to say the least. But as long as Kim Dickens is in the show, I will hang around.
I agree with everything you said except for Kim Dickens. I'm so tired of her brooding. Barely acting.
Finally have gotten around to watching this, and I'm quite surprised on how much I'm enjoying it! Only on episode No3 but I'm going to stick with it. I dig the way it comes across as been more film like, visually than a TV series.
A statement like that is irrelevantly relative. Most people in the world don't even watch or like The Walking Dead.
